How does this happen?
Two are new books that I've been waiting for forever; two had really long hold lists when I first put them on reserve, and it's finally my turn to check them out, and one's an Interlibrary Loan book that I requested weeks ago. Now they're all here.
I've been inundated! Talk about a bookish deluge. (But I guess that's better than a bookish drought!)
Here's the five books I now have to find time to read:
- Lydia's Party by Margaret Hawkins
- The Moon Sisters by Therese Walsh
- The Assassination of the Archduke by Greg King and Sue Woolmans
- Tragic Beauty: the Lost 1914 Memoirs of Evelyn Nesbit
- Panic by Lauren Oliver
This has happened to me so many times! Although a lot less recently as I mostly only reserve books from the library now. I hope you enjoy your books - it sounds like you've waited some time for them!

Thanks. After all that waiting, I hope they're good, too. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteYep, this definitely happens to me! I'm actually trying to cut back my library use at the moment so I can read from my shelves, but the library is so tempting sometimes....
ReplyDeleteI know. And even when I go with a specific list, I always end up putting more books in my bag than I was planning on. Oh well, it's cheaper than shopping! :)
DeleteThis is the law of library books, I think. Once I have a satisfying (and maybe even manageable) stack of books on hand and a plan to read them, those library holds ALWAYS choose to become available, and ALWAYS all at once! Happy reading, and good luck swimming through the deluge!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Hopefully they were worth the wait.
DeleteIt happens to me all the time! For a while, I was really good and limited myself to two holds at a time. But then all of these great-looking new books came out...and that was the end of that!
ReplyDeleteI know. You put them on hold so you don't miss out, and then they all come at once. Timing is everything. :)
