  2. Great owl picture! I saw a snowy owl when I took an injured crow to a rescue centre one night and it was the most gorgeous bird!

    1. How cool! I've always wanted to see a snowy owl, but I don't live in the right part of the world. :)

    1. That's the one good thing about Utah being a desert... it's hot and dry but hardly ever humid. :)

  4. Triple digits with humidity (105 degrees with heat index of 113+) are not like summers used to be here in the south. But I am all about summer foods and wildflowers. Too hot for hiking at the moment. :o

    1. Yeah, humidity is a killer! At least here in Utah I can get up high enough in the mountains when I hike that the temps always feel a little bit cooler, which is a relief. :)

  5. Love the pictures of the owls. They're marvelous! I'm a big fan of corn on the cob too, and I only eat it in the summer.

    Happy summer!

  6. I don't like the triple digits, either! I just had my first corn on the cob for the summer, and summer berries are great. I love the owl picture! I also liked Wolves of Winter (maybe this "cool" read will help with the heat). I am looking forward to seeing what you think about the book. Happy Summer!

  8. Triple digits are the worst. It was 115 here in the Phoenix area today! Ugh. I hate summer (and it's pretty much summer here for nine months out of the year)!

    1. I don't know how you stand temps that high! Poor you. I hope it cools down soon.

  10. I love owls! Such beautiful creatures. I love fresh corn on the cob too. I hate the wildfires too. We're in the middle of triple digit heat right now. I don't mind it as long as I can be inside an air conditioned building. :-) I hope you are having a wonderful summer! Mine is flying by.

    1. My summer is going much faster than I'd like! If I could, I'd reset it back to June and do it all over again. :D

  11. I'm right there with you about the triple digit temps. It's been awful around here.

I'm rereading Sparrow Hill Road right now. It's even better than I remember. Hope you enjoy it!

    1. I can't wait! :) And I hope you survive the heat. July is almost over, so maybe August will bring slightly cooler temps. I hope.

  12. I love the crickets too! And the sound of cicadas.
