I thoroughly enjoyed these two recent reads. My Sister's Intended by Rachael Anderson is an engaging Regency Romance that didn't make me roll my eyes once. And The Thin Woman by Dorothy Cannell is both a treasure hunt and a mystery all in one. Both of these books are light-hearted, humorous reads by authors I look forward to reading again.

DeleteLove the abandoned, overgrown library! A regency romance that didn’t make you roll your eyes? Wow. I read tons of these as a teen and loved them but there was always eye rolling. I’ll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteThe library is awesome, isn't it? And I liked that the Regency romance had a lot of humor in it, and that it wasn't super long, and so didn't have time to get stupid.
DeleteI enjoyed The Thin Woman too. The library is mystical, is that a photo or a painting? If a photo, I hope someone has rescued those books. Can you tell I am a librarian?

DeleteLove the book picture, and yes I wish it was real! The spoilers are pretty funny! I guess those authors do stick to a general formula. :)

DeleteMy Sister's Intended has been on my TBR since it came out. It sounds like a great read and that cover is gorgeous. I've read quite a few of Rachael Anderson's books and loved them all, so I don't know why I haven't read this one yet, lol. Hopefully I will soon!

DeleteI came across a whole series of photos of miniature abandoned libraries and other buildings once. I think this one was part of it. It was so cool; I would love to find it again!
ReplyDeleteI read The Thin Woman decades ago, and it was indeed a fun light mystery. And the comics summarizing Dickens and King books are hilarious.
Atkinson's comics are so funny. I love them. :)
