Top Ten Tuesday...

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week's theme was a freebie. So, after much deliberation, here's what I came up with...

📚The 11 Books I Most Want to Read This Summer:
(I actually had my list narrowed down to ten, but then I added one more at the last minute.)

1. Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

2. The Burning Girls by C.J. Tudor

3. The Black Echo by Michael Connelly

4. For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten

5. Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs

6. Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

7. How to Mars by David Ebenbach

8. Suddenly Psychic by Elizabeth Hunter

9. The Rains by Gregg Hurwitz

10. Courage Under Fire by Lindsay McKenna

11. The Darkness by Ragnar Jonasson

Of course, there are many more books on my summer TBR list...too many!...but these 11 books are at the top, and the ones I hope to read first. Stay tuned to see what other books summer brings.

Happy Reading!

  1. Well, I highly recommend Tarzan of the Apes! :-) I really liked the movie with Alexander Skarsgård too, though that's more of a sequel. And For the Wolf is on my TBR too: what a gorgeous cover, how can you not want to read it~

    1. I have Project Hail Mary on hold...it'll just take a few weeks for my number to come up at the library. But it does look really good.

  3. That's a nice variety of choices...something for every mood you find yourself in over the summer. I just reviewed Project Hail Mary this morning. Andy Weir writes one heck of a complicated SF novel, that's for sure. If you like the science in science fiction, you'll love it. Oh, and it's hard to go wrong with Michael Connelly, IMO.

    1. I don't mind a lot of science in my science fiction. And I really loved Weir's The Martian, so I'm looking forward to reading Project Hail Mary. And I've already got The Black Echo checked out of the library! :)

  10. Andy Weir's type of sci-fi would not normally be my think, but after loving The Martian more than I'd have thought, I've got Project Hail Mary coming up on my TBR too.

  11. Ooh I liked the Rains! And Tarzan is such a classic- haven't read it in years. Back in the 80's (or maybe 70's) Ballantine had the entire series in these awesome editions with Neal adams and Boris Vallejo art (I ws more into Adams). I had some as a kid, they looked so good on the shelf... :)

  12. I've only read INTO THE WILD from your list. The book is interesting, but it's also super sad and depressing. Hopefully, you'll like it better than I did.

    Happy TTT!

  19. Is Into the Wild the book they made into a movie a few years back with Kristen Stewart? I just read in the comments you know it doesn't have a happy ending. Yep, that movie was depressing. I loved The Martian so I'm interested in Hail Mary. I think I read Black Echo years ago. I read the first 3 (maybe?) in that series. Never heard of Courage Under Fire or The Darkness, but they look good. I have a copy of For the Wolf and I'm looking forward to it! Hope you get your copy soon. I look forward to your thoughts on all of these, Lark! :)

  22. I've been wanting to read Into the Wild for year now--maybe if I read your review, I'll be inspired to take it off the shelf and open it!

Will be curious regarding the Edgar Rice Burroughs book. I've never read anything by him, but I'm curious.

    Happy summer!
