Something Wilder by Christina Lauren
3 Things I loved about this book:
💗 It's set in Canyonlands, Utah --which made it very easy for me (being from Utah) to visualize the awesome scenery the characters were riding and hiking through.
💗 There's a treasure hunt! I loved how Lily and Leo pieced together the clues and figured out the secret codes left by Duke Wilder as they searched for Butch Cassidy's legendary lost treasure.
💗 Lily Wilder and Leo Grady. I loved how these two characters came back together after being apart for the last ten years, and how they had several honest and heartfelt conversations in order to work through their past heartbreak. Their chemistry and steamy romance was pretty great, too.
With plenty of action, humor, friendship, mystery, heart and romance, this was a captivating and fun book.
Happy Reading!
I enjoyed this except for the misunderstanding/breakup which seemed so unnecessary and the fact that the father came across as such a jerk.
ReplyDeleteI excused their misunderstanding at the first because they were both pretty young, and also because they were both willing to admit blame for their own actions later and not let the angst continue.
DeleteThis sounds like it might be the perfect summer read.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a lot of fun, especially if you're in the mood for a big dose of romance with your adventure.
DeleteUtah is on my bucket list. It's so incredibly beautiful, from the pictures I see.
ReplyDeleteThere is some amazing scenery here in Utah. I really love all the red rock canyons. :D
DeleteYou had me with 'set in Utah'. 😁
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm biased, but I think it's a pretty great setting. ;D
DeleteNice! I'd like to read more books set in Utah, or the West in general.
ReplyDeleteAll the western states make for some great bookish settings. :)
DeleteOoh, I love a treasure hunt! This sounds like a fun summery read. :)
ReplyDeleteThe treasure hunt was fun, but then they always are. :)
DeleteThis was a fun one, and neat that you could envision the setting so well. It made me want to visit there!
ReplyDeleteCanyonlands does have some gorgeous scenery!
DeleteI loved it too! I love Canyonlands, so it was so fun to see a book set there.
ReplyDeleteYes! And it's the perfect setting for a treasure hunt. :)
DeleteThe second point absolutely sold me! I love a treasure hunt and how can I resist one involving Butch Cassidy's lost treasure!
ReplyDeleteI love a fun treasure hunt/adventure in a book, too. :D

Thank you! And thanks for commenting. :D
DeleteHow cool to read this book and be able to visualize the setting!
ReplyDeleteIt made it even more fun. :D
DeleteThis author has published quite a lot of books right? And, I haven't read any! One of these days.... Sounds like a light and fun read.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first book I've read by these authors, so you're not alone in being a bit behind. :)
DeleteTreasure Hunt! Sign me up. 😊
ReplyDeleteRight? Treasure hunt adventures are the best, especially when there's also a romance. :)
DeleteUtah has some very pretty areas for settings of books ... I've been to Moab and some of the parks ... also Park City ... !
ReplyDeleteArches near Moab is so amazing! It's one of my favorite Utah spots. And Canyonlands is very near there, so it has similar scenery.
DeleteI read this one recently, but haven't written my review yet. It was a fun story with a few nail biting moments. Glad we both enjoyed it, Lark.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun story! I didn't feel like trying to summarize the plot, because I'm lazy like that, so I went the easy review way and just listed 3 things I loved about it. ;D
DeleteSounds so fun!
ReplyDeleteI was fun! :D
DeleteSounds like a great summer read - light and fun, but not overly fluffy. And the treasure hunt is the icing on the cake. I'll have to remember this one for next time I am in the mood for a contemporary romance.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun. I think you'd enjoy it. :D
DeleteI have only read one Christina Lauren book and definitely want to read more. This sounds like a fun one!
ReplyDeleteIt made me smile. :D
DeleteThis was such a fun read. A little different from what they usually write, but I still really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteIt is a really fun read. I haven't read any of their other books, but I really want to now. :)
DeleteI'm happy you enjoyed this one as much as I did! We have a trip booked for Moab next month! My husband is a mountain biker and it's been one of his dream places to ride for so long. We can't wait to go!
ReplyDeleteMoab is a lot of fun; and Arches National Park (which is right by Moab) is one of my most favorite places. Enjoy your trip! :D
DeleteI enjoyed THE UNHONEYMOONERS by Lauren, so I might have to pick this one up as well. Utah settings are always fun since, like you, I can imagine the scenery so vividly, having been there many, many times.
ReplyDeleteIt does make the book that much more fun when you've been to some of the places in it. :)
DeleteI think I've only read a few of her books. Some I loved and some so-so. This one sounds like a fun read!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first book by these authors that I've read, but I thought it was a lot of fun. I want to read Roomies and Soulmate Equation next.
