Randomness...

Recently finished reading:

I loved this one! Nora Goes Off Script by Annabel Monaghan is a funny, captivating, heartwarming and clever romance. I adored the interactions between single mom, Nora, and her two kids, and sexy actor Leo Vance. And the fact that Nora writes "happy and dumb" TV romance movie scripts just added to the fun. If you haven't read this one, I highly recommend it.

I keep finding my own blog comments in the spam folder. And some are from posts written back in 2019 that are only turning up as spam now. Why?! It's so frustrating...and also a bit time-consuming having to okay them all one by one to take them out of the spam folder. Someone please tell me why Blogger keeps categorizing my own comments published on my own blog as spam! Or at least how to fix it so it doesn't keep happening.

(There was one funny spam comment in the mix that totally made me laugh: "with exactly what went via your head: Uhh.")

These are the library books I checked out over the weekend that I plan hope to read this month:

How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix
Midnight at Malabar House by Vaseem Khan
Hatchet Island by Paul Doiron
The Love Wager by Lynn Painter
Adult Assembly Required by Abbi Waxman
The Messy Lives of Book People byPhaedra Patrick
The Killing Kind by John Connolly
In the Clearing by Robert Dugoni
The Only Game in Town by Lacie Walden
A Perfect Amish Romance by Shelley Shepherd Gray
Flirting With the Beast by Jane Porter

And here's my favorite quote for the week:

Happy Reading!

  3. The Killing Kind is very good, but then all the Charlie Parker books are. :-) Oh gosh, I wonder if it's Blogspot that's causing my problems rather than my new Windows 10. I can't open other people's Blogspot blogs (Wordpress blogs are fine) without a trip around the houses and can't comment without logging in, it's driving me crazy. There's clearly a conflict somewhere.

    1. This is me, Cath, again! It didn't even ask me to log in. *Head-desk*

    2. That is so weird! Usually if you click on the little box above the comment box where it says "anonymous" it drops down to give you other choices...like from a google account, etc.
And I'm looking forward to reading The Killing Kind; I do like Charle Parker. :D

  4. I love that quote. :) I've yet to read any of Monaghan's adult novels but I definitely want to pick one up soon.

  5. I haven't found any of my own comments in spam but I've found plenty of others. Ugh I have no idea what Blogger's deal is!

    1. I don't either. But it's very frustrating! Your comments end up in spam folder all the time, too. It's so dumb.

  6. Lovely quote, and so very true!
I can't give any solution to your blog comments, it never happens to mine. Though I've noticed that certain bloggers' comments (including yours) are more often being put into spam folder than others. And I don't know why. (-_-)'

  7. Blogger is in a mood lately. For some reason I only get emails of comments every third day or so. Not quite sure what that's about and your issue is just bizarre! Blogger should recognize its own account! Great library haul! Phaedra Patrick and Abbi Waxman are both authors I really want to read.

    1. Blogger should recognize it's own account! And while I've never read Phaedra Patrick, I loved Abbi Waxman's other novel The Bookish Life of Nina Hill. :D

  9. Nora sounds cute! I enjoyed Flirting with the Beast and I enjoy Shelley Shepherd Gray's Amish romances. I have one I need to read. Hope you love them. Not sure about the commenting issue. I have to mark comments as "not spam" and I haven't been getting emails all the time when someone comments on the blog like I did in the past. Blogger is crazy sometimes. :/

    1. It's been really crazy lately. And the way it switches comments from published to spam seems so random.

  10. I've been having the exact same problem with comments on my blog. Last month, every day for about a week or so, I'd have 50+ comments labeled spam. Most of them were my own comments too. It's not happening as frequently now. Maybe just a couple times a week, but it's still incredibly annoying. I wish I knew how to fix it because, I agree, it's so frustrating!

  11. Lark, my blog does that too. Even though I check spam every day I will have random comments, (a lot of mine) end up in spam weeks later. Or, I will look over comments and KNOW I commented, but it's just not there (and eventually lands in spam). I agree, it is frustrating and I am like everyone else, clueless how to fix it!

    1. And why they show up as spam weeks (and sometimes months!) later is such a mystery. This didn't use to happen on Blogger, so whatever they changed, I wish they'd change it back.

  14. I am having the same issue with Blogger. So many comments suddenly in my spam folder--and some of them are from years and years ago. It's crazy.

I hope you enjoy your library books! Several (most) of those are ones I hope to read someday too. :-)

    Have a great week!

Enjoy your library books and happy reading! :)
