I really liked The White Garden.
DeleteThe only book with garden in the title that comes to mind is The Winter Garden. A tough read at times, but so moving. I've not read any of the ones you shared here, but I'm definitely familiar with several of the authors.

DeleteI've only read Garden Spells and Murder in the Royal Botanic Garden. I can add the classic Elizabeth of the German Garden, a great biography of Elizabeth von Arnim.

DeleteI think I have The Kew Gardens one on my Kindle. Some interesting suggestions here, Lark! My favourite garden book is a non-fiction, The Morville Hours by Katherine Swift, such a beautiful book.

DeleteA very nice choice of books. I haven't read them but I like many of the covers. The one novel that stands out for me is White Garden because I have Stephanie Barron's Jane and the Unpleasantness at Sargrave Manor book and must read it!

DeleteOoh, beautiful collection of covers, and I love the garden theme! The only garden book that comes to mind for me is The Secret Garden... oh, and I actually just read a creepy book called The Garden, but the fact that it already slipped my mind is a pretty good indication of how much I liked it. :)

I don't have a green them either. My grandma could grow anything, and my dad was really good with roses, but me? Even when I try really hard my house plants all die. ;D
DeleteI haven't read any on your list, but I've read a few books where a garden was involved: Witch of Wild Things and Bittersweet in the Hollow both feature gardening and are magical. I'm sure I've read more. I love it when gardening is featured, as I love gardening! :)

DeleteThe only one of these I can personally vouch for is Stephanie Barron's The White Garden. I really like d that one a lot, especially because of the tie-in to Virginia Woolf. I think my favorite book of all time that had the word "garden" in the title is Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

And it's why I read it in the first place; I was going through a Virgina Woolf phase and was reading all her books as well as other books about her. And I forgot about Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil! I liked that book a lot, too...and it would have been perfect for this list.

DeleteThat's often the problem. I have found a "Top Five" challenge and thought, that must be even worse. Weirdly enough, it's not. It's easier to find your favourite five and then stop.
DeleteI'll have to try one of those instead some time.
DeleteI have done Top Ten so often and the subjects are repeated. So, now I just do the new ones and sometimes one of the Top Five. That way, it's still fun.

DeleteI have had Garden Spells on my TBR shelf for quite a while and I still haven't read it. I am interested in The Twilight Garden. I enjoyed the author's previous book.
ReplyDeleteI loved Sara Nisha Adams previous book! And Garden Spells is one I read years ago and liked well enough to buy a copy for myself. Of course, I haven't gone back to reread it yet. But that seems to happen a lot in my bookish world. ;D
