Haiku reviews...

Off the Beaten Path by Madison Wright

Flirty, sunny Wren
tangles with her grumpy neighbor,
single dad Holden.

Romantic comedy .... 360 pages .... 4.5/5 stars.
(Loved Holden's relationship with his six-year-old daughter, June, in this sweet romance.)

Metropolis by B.A. Shapiro

Six lives intersect
at Metropolitan Storage;
each with their own secrets.

Fiction .... 355 pages .... 4/5 stars.
(This character-driven novel is so well-written!)

Beauty and the Beach by Gracie Ruth Mitchell

Her need for money.
His grandma's will. Two reasons
for a fake marriage (that turns out to be real).

Sweet romance .... 306 pages .... 4/5 stars.
(A charming summer romance with clever and humorous banter...and some very funny nicknames between Holland and Phoenix.)

Happy Reading!

  6. I like the sound of Metropolis. I really enjoy when we get to peek into a bunch of different characters' lives to tell a larger story.

  12. All meeting at a storage place eh? Gosh I always wanted to get out of there quickly when I was using a unit for moving.

    1. Well, some are actually living there. And one guy has his office there. So it's a pretty unique situation. But I'm like you; I find storage places kind of creepy. ;D

  13. Just enough to intrigue me, Lark. They all sound like good ones. I used to watch that show where they auctioned off storage units. Some of the stuff was pretty creepy. Not sure if I would want to spend enough time there to meet others.

    1. Yeah, hanging out at a storage unit isn't something I'd want to do either. But I did love reading the book. :D
