A bookish update...

Recently finished reading:

(Gotta love Agatha Christie!)

Looking forward to eating all my favorite Thanksgiving dishes next week:
Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, shrimp salad, raspberry and lemon cream cheese jello, homemade rolls, and of course, pumpkin pie!

Bought myself an early Christmas gift:

(It's the best calendar; I buy one every year!)

Recently checked out of the library:
Omega Days by John Campbell
The Lost Causes by Jessica Etting
The Silent Girls by Eric Rickstad
Third Grave Dead Ahead by Darynda Jones
The Sparrow Sisters by Ellen Herrick
Lamb to the Slaughter by Karen Ann Hopkins

Up next:

(#6 in her Cal Leandros series.)

Happy Reading!

  3. I've had one of those Reading Woman calendar books several years ago and have cut most of the pictures from it to use on postcards! Eager to hear about the Cal Leandros series. :) I haven't heard of it and may need to check it out!

    1. I've been enjoying the Cal Leandros series. I really liked the first one and while not every book that follows is as good, I'm still reading the series. :)

  4. I’ve never read an Agatha Christie book before but last night I went and saw the movie Murder on the Orient Express. Is that detective in several of her books? I need to finish the Cal Leandros series.

    1. Hercule Poirot is one of her main detectives; I actually like the book version of him better than all the TV and movie versions I've seen. :)

  6. Shrimp salad? Sounds interesting. We're going to my husband's aunt's house and she always makes pomegranate salad for Thanksgiving.

That calendar is so pretty! I might have to talk Santa Claus into getting me one :)

    1. Definitely ask for the calendar for Christmas! And sometime you'll have to give me the recipe for pomegranate salad...it sounds yummy! :)

  7. That is a wonderful calendar. I haven't bought it in a while and I should have kept the old one just for the pictures alone. Like the sound of the jello you are making. You'll have to post a picture!

  8. Sounds like you have a great Thanksgiving planned. :-) I am still not sure what we'll be eating. We usually go out for Thanksgiving. What a great calendar! As I was going through my shelves, I found a copy of Nightlife by Rob Thurman. I hope you enjoy Blackout! Have a great Thanksgiving, Lark!
