  2. I've only read A Walk in the Woods from this list but, I really liked it. Bryson is a great writer, his memoir (he's around my age) really resonated with me at times. The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid.

  10. Bill Bryson is probably the funniest writer I can think of. In one of his books he described buying bread in a bakery in Paris and I was crying with laughter.

  11. A WALK IN THE WOODS landed on my doorstep an hour ago. Literally! I ordered it last week and it arrived today. I've never read anything by Bryson, so I'm excited to read it. It's been on lots of lists today, which makes me even more anxious to get started.

    1. I first read that book because I've always wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail, and I reread it now because parts of it are so funny! I hope you enjoy it. :D

  19. Oh, I forgot about Gail Carriger and PG Wodehouse! I got three books in on the Parasol Protectorate series on audio and never went back to finish. I love Wodehouse on audio, too.
