  1. I remember your review of Small as an Elephant from early on in Reading New England. It sounded really intriguing. Looks like you found a lot of other great fiction reads as well!

  2. I haven't read many of those, but I did read Miss Buncle's Book a few years ago and enjoyed it. I'll have to look for some of your other choices in 2017!

    1. Check out the Simone St. James! I've loved all of her books because she combines suspense, ghosts, and romance so well. :)

    1. It is! :D It's sad that so many people have never even heard of it, or of Stella Gibbons. She's such a great author. I've been trying to read more of her books, but they're surprisingly hard to find.

  7. I haven't even heard of most of these! I did read SMALL AS AN ELEPHANT a few years back. I liked it, but didn't love it. I'm hoping to get to THE BOOKSHOP ON THE CORNER sometime soon. Glad it's worth the read!

  8. I love reading other people's lists at the end of the year, because they always give me inspiration and bring books back into my memory (oh yeah, she blogged about this one and it sounded great). I now put Cold comfort farm on my wish-list!

    Kind regards,

  9. Oh, I love Top 10 lists. I've just added "Cold Comfort Farm" to my TBR. I've heard about it for years, but your recommendation is pushing it over the edge to actual TBR status. Wishing you a great year of reading ahead!
