DeleteI really enjoyed Fairest of Heart. I thought it was such a fun idea to retell Snow White in a western setting. :D

ReplyDeleteI love fairy tale retellings, too. And this one was unique. I don't think I've read another one set in Texas in the 1890s. I liked the mash-up of Western and fairy tale romance. :D

DeleteI doubt I could do them at all. I'm not even much into reading poetry, so how should I be able to write it.
DeleteWell, the great thing about Haiku is that it doesn't have to rhyme, or follow any kind of rules or order other than having 3 lines of 5,7,5 syllables respectively, which makes it an easier kind of poem to write. (Though I still go over the syllable count depending on how easy or hard it is to sum up a book's plot in three lines. ;D )

DeleteYour haiku made me want to read The Other Side of Lost if only to discover the route of the John Muir trail. Now that I've retired, weekly hikes are becoming a thing I can actually maybe do!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to get back into the routine of weekly hikes! And The Other Side of Lost is SO good. It doesn't read like a YA novel, and the hiking parts are very fun. It made me want to go hike the John Muir trail. :D
