Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's theme is supposed to be BOOKS TO READ DURING A STORM. But I'm going a little bit rogue today and doing a list of 10 BOOKS I READ IN DECEMBER OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS. We'll see if they have a wintry storm theme to them, or not.
(This was the first review I ever posted.)
There you go--ten of my December reads from the last ten years.
And ALL would be good books to read during a storm. ☃
Happy Reading!
Feed was a good read. I’m surprised it was never made into a film!
ReplyDeleteOoh...that would make for a good movie. I'd totally watch it.
DeleteI've read a couple of these but plenty more for me to go off and investigate. Ice Dogs for instance, and Snow Hunters.
ReplyDeleteI liked both of those books for very different reasons.
DeleteThe only one of these that I've read is Murder on the Orient Express - one of my favorites. Others I've been aware of, but not read as yet. Good list, Lark. Liked your tweak of it.
ReplyDeleteMurder on the Orient Express is one of my favs, too! :D
DeleteI've meant to read TRAPPED for years. It has a spooky blurb, I wonder if I could stand reading it in a storm?
ReplyDeletePlease drop me a comment. I am trying to figure out if others can get through whatever barriers my provider has placed in our way. And I need the data. Thank you. My books which include snowy scenes
Trapped is a good one. I love survival type stories like that.
DeleteTrapped looks so scary!
ReplyDeleteHere is our post: https://www.longandshortreviews.com/miscellaneous-musings/top-ten-tuesday-books-to-read-during-a-storm/
It's a fun YA survival story! I really liked it.
DeleteAnd several of them are snowy/Christmassy! Great list.
ReplyDeleteI guess that's what I gravitate to every December. ;D
DeleteI love the cover for Ice Dogs.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great? It's a good story, too.
DeleteThat's an interesting collection of books for December reading or indeed any month's reading.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a bit of an eclectic reader. I'm that way with music, too. :D
DeleteI read and enjoyed four on your list: Feed, Murder on the Orient Express, The White Christmas Inn, and Snowed in For Christmas. The Christmas books were both a delight! :)
ReplyDeleteThey were delightful! Looking back at my reviews of them kind of made me want to reread them. :D
DeleteThat's a pretty snowy looking set of books!
ReplyDeleteI got lucky with the covers this time around. :D
DeleteInteresting that The Night Circus was your first review; I always like knowing what was ... and I still need to read The Night Circus. It's still popular to this day.
ReplyDeleteI do love that book! I've always wished she'd write a sequel to it.
DeleteThis is a fun list! I want to reread Feed one of these days. :)
ReplyDeleteDid you read the rest of the books in the series? Because I never did. But maybe I should.
DeleteA nice selection of books Lark. I an interested in Trapped and The White Christmas Inn. Must check them out. And of course Murder On The Orient Express is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI do love Agatha Christie! And both Trapped and The White Christmas were fun reads...though for very different reasons. :D
DeleteNice list!! I keep meaning to read Agatha Christie's novel, Murder on the Orient Express, but after seeing two different movies based on the novel, I keep putting it off!
ReplyDeleteI have read and loved The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern!!
The Night Circus was so great! I kind of want to reread it now. :D
DeleteIt would be a fun book to reread! Have you read The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern?
DeleteI did read The Starless Sea. And while I didn't love it nearly as much as The Night Circus, I did like it. There were some fun magical moments in it.
DeleteGood idea to go back year by year. I might do that one day.
ReplyDeleteIt's been fun to see what I was reading all those years ago. :D
DeleteI like your take on the topic. I read The Night Circus a while ago and Murder on the Orient Express is a favorite.
ReplyDeleteTwo really good books imo. :D
DeleteGreat idea! I love The Night Circus and It's perfect for a stormy day :)

I loved The Night Circus! Thanks for commenting . :D
DeleteTrue, that's something I like about TTT, though in the meantime, I have done so many, it keeps repeating.
ReplyDeleteYeah, there are only so many times you can do certain posts, or list the same books. That's why I don't do every TTT post that comes along. And also, I'm lazy. ;D
DeleteHahaha, I doubt that. LOL
DeleteBut you are right, some topics you can do a couple of times but that's it then.
I love Snowed in For Christmas and Murder on the Orient Express is one of my favorite Christies. You definitely have a theme of isolation or of being stuck somewhere in your December reading! Fun list!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that those are the kinds of books I gravitate to this time of year. I'm not sure why... ;D
DeleteOh, these look like great reads for December! I enjoyed Murder on the Orient Express and Night Circus. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDelete:D Thank you.
DeleteSnow Hunters is one of my favorite books, very sad though. I wouldn't know if the other books other than #3 & #5 has winter themes as I didn't read the others but their covers looks winterly.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
:D I really liked Snow Hunters, too. Have you read any of Yoon's other books?
