When I decided to participate in Susan's Bookish Books Reading Challenge last January, I had a list of 20 books that I wanted to read for it. And I came really close. Out of those 20 books, I DNFed two of them, wasn't in the mood for two others, and one that I really wanted to read ended up having so many holds on it by the time I went to check it out of the library there's no way I'll get a copy of it until sometime next year. But I read the rest of them. (Drumroll, please!) Here are the 15 bookish books I read this year:
So, if you're in the mood to read a book about books, bookshops, bookstore owners, authors or libraries, I recommend any of these...but especially the ones with hearts by them, because those were my favorites. And I want to thank Susan for coming up with and hosting this very fun reading challenge. She's going to do it again next year, if you're interested in joining in.

DeleteI can't count, 'twas 14 not 13. 😅 Yes, we both read The Library and something else but I'm not sure which.
DeleteWay to go! I'm nervous to even look back at my originally planned TBR for the year. There's just too many new releases that always distract me haha

DeleteI think I did nine total for this challenge, but I did not set a goal. Congratulations on reading 15 bookish books ;)

DeleteCongratulations Lark and thank you for listing these book and placing a heart next to your favorites I will check them out. I am thinking of the new year and so many different book challenges are out there. One that has me interested is the historical book club challenge which I will post about. DeleteThe only book on your list that I have read is "The Reading List" which I read a couple of years ago. I loved it and I see you have a heart by its title so I guess you liked it, too!

DeleteWhat a fun challenge and who can resist books about book! I have read a couple of these and really enjoyed them. I'm trying not to go crazy on challenges next year but I'm tempted by this one for sure! Congrats on doing so well on your challenge!

DeleteI need to do up my end of the year challenges post! I read and enjoyed The Lonely Hearts Book Club and Summer Reading too! 15 books is still great even if you didn't get to 20. I aimed for a lower goal.

DeleteNice! I'm glad you enjoyed this challenge so much. I've had a grand time hosting it and I'm so happy that other people have had such fun with it. I'm looking forward to another great year of reading and sharing bookish books. I've actually only read two of the titles on your list (ON SPINE OF DEATH and THE MESSY LIVES OF BOOK PEOPLE), so I'm going to come back to this post for inspo on what to read for the challenge in the new year.

DeleteYou did so well with this challenge, Lark! I really liked The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams and The Banned Bookshop of Maggie Banks also.
