The first 10 books I'm going to check out from my library when it finally reopens:
1. The End of Temperance Dare by Wendy Webb
2. The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James
3. Girls Save the World in This One by Ash Parsons
4. The Way of the Brave by Susan May Warren
5. The War Bride's Scrapbook by Caroline Preston
6. Hidden by Rebecca Zanetti
7. Desperate Creed Alex Kava
8. Collateral Damage by Lynette Eason
9. Two Girls Down by Louisa Luna
10. The Catacombs by Jeremy Bates
Of course, I reserve the right to change my mind...and any or all of the books on this list...if my mood changes or I find 10 other books I want to read even more than these. (Or if none of these are available...because you never know.)
Happy Reading!
Great list and a relatable post, Lark! I really miss visiting the bookstores and the libraries. Sigh. And I enjoyed reading Two Girls Down so I hope you'll enjoy it too if you get to it.
ReplyDeleteHi, Melody! Is your library still closed? At this rate we'll never get to do another buddy read. 2020 sure has turned out to be a stupid year.
DeleteThe libraries are still closed; the same goes to schools and non essential businesses, too. :( 2020 isn't a good year, that's for sure.
DeleteI liked Two Girls Down, as well. Good luck with getting what you want as soon as possible, Lark!
ReplyDeleteThat one does sound so good! I'm excited to read it...someday. ;D
DeleteAwesome list. I really loved The Sundown Motel. I've been surviving with ebook and audiobooks from my library, but I can't wait to get my hands on some physical books again!
ReplyDeleteActual books are my preferred way to read, although if my library closure keeps up much longer I'll have to switch to e-books.
DeleteBeng cut off from the library is terrible; you have my sympathies. But it does make for an excellent topic idea. The first two on your list are on my want-to-borrow list as well.
ReplyDeleteThe War Bride's Scrapbook is such a treasure. Now I kind of wish I could have the library's copy back too, to pore over its pages again. Have you already read the Frankie Pratt one?
I loved the Frankie Pratt one! (So much I bought a copy.) I'm looking forward to the War Bride's Scrapbook. :) Thanks for commenting!
DeleteGreat list.
ReplyDelete:) Thank you.
DeleteI hope you get all of these books soon!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
Thank you! I'm crossing my fingers my library reopens next month.
DeleteThis weeks TTT was tough for me. I wish I went rogue, because I like your idea better!
ReplyDeleteLoved Two Girls Down, and I want to read The Sun Down Motel, too. I'm in line for the audio/e-book at my library. :)
Yeah, I couldn't think of any books I wish I'd read as a child, because I read great books as a child, and I still read children's books as an adult. So that's why I did this list instead. :)
DeleteOh The Sun Down - yes I need that one!!!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't that one sound good? :)
DeleteHeh, might want to put in your requests now so you can get them. Or, as you said, you may change your mind. I requested a popular book from the library, one I've been wanting to read, and I had no desire to read it. Sigh. So I returned it and I'll try again down the road.
ReplyDeleteI've done that before. :D But hey, the library's free whether I read the books I check out, or not, so no harm no foul.
DeleteThis is a perfect topic. I wasn't sure about this one and had two tours today so I skipped it. I've read Two Girls Down and LOVED it!
ReplyDeleteTwo Girls Down does sound really good. I can't wait to read it. :)
DeleteI love the way you left yourself all that "wiggle room" at the end, Lark. That's the mark of an avid reader, if I've ever seen one.
ReplyDelete:D That's me.
DeleteThe Sun Down Motel sounds interesting and I like the cover design too.
ReplyDeleteI've heard really good things about it, so I'm hoping it's as good as it looks.
DeleteI hope you enjoy them all! I’m trying to stay out of the library this year and read some of the books on my shelf. I feel bad that I don’t read the stuff I buy.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Since my library was closed I've been forced to read the books on my shelves...which isn't a bad thing. I did buy them to read after all. :)
DeleteOooh, these all look good. I enjoyed THE SUN DOWN MOTEL, but that's the only one I've read off your list. I hope your library reopens soon! It's such a bummer not being able to utilize them :(
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
It's the worst! I hate it.
DeleteWhat a great post idea! You should submit it to Jana!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteAwesome list! I've been curious about Girls Save the World in This One. I enjoyed The Way of the Brave and Collateral Damage. I hope you do too! :)
ReplyDeleteI remember you really liked both The Way of the Brave and Collateral Damage. That's why I have them on my TBR list. :)
DeleteGreat idea for a TTT list. The Sun Down Motel looks interesting! Here's my Top Ten Tuesday List!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting! :)
DeleteBrilliant TTT! ANd Two Girls Down and Girls Save the World in this one? Awesome choices!
ReplyDelete:D Now if only I could read them!
DeleteI really recommend Two Girls Down. Finished that last month and plan to read more by the author. Now, the one that totally caught my eye though was the Caroline Preston book. How did I miss that? Loved another book she came out with before which seems similar in style and just charming. Must get my hands on this one!
ReplyDeleteThe Preston book does look charming, doesn't it? I can't wait to read it. :)
DeleteI hope they're good.
ReplyDeleteI hope I get a chance to find out sometime soon. :)
DeleteThis will be a great library haul! I'm hoping to read The Sun Down Motel in May.
ReplyDeleteI hear it's a good one. :)
DeleteI'm not at my full reading capacity at the moment but I'm improving! As long as I keep getting stuff read, I refuse to worry about being slow!
ReplyDeleteI think we're all reading a little bit differently these days.
DeleteSeveral of these are books I am hoping to read too!
ReplyDeleteSome of these look really good, don't they? :D
DeleteI haven't heard of any of these books or authors, but the title of this post is basically my entire mood at this point. Hopefully the libraries start opening up soon and you can get these and have some happy reading!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed! :D
