Seven Series I'm Seriously Behind In:
(Because I couldn't come up with ten.)
1. Jefferson Bass's Body Farm Series.
There are 10 books in this series and I'm only on #3:
2. Richard Montanari's Jessica Balzano & Kevin Byrne Series.
There are 9 books in this series and once again I'm on #3 (sensing a pattern here?):
3. Elly Griffiths Ruth Galloway Series.
There are 12 books in this series and I'm on #5,
although I think I somehow skipped reading #3.
4. Elly Griffiths Stephens & Mephisto mysteries.
There are only 5 books in this series so far, and I'm on #3.
5. Genevieve Cogman's Invisible Library Series.
There are now 7 books in this series and sadly, I'm only on #2.
6. Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles.
There are 9 books in this series and I'm on #2.
(But in my defense, I just started reading this series in March.)
7. Kelley Armstrong's Rockton Series.
There are 5 books in this series, with another coming out next year...
....and I still need to read #1.
....and I still need to read #1.
So, there you have it. The seven series I'm the most behind in reading.
Luckily, there are an equal number of series where I'm actually all caught up.
Like Briggs' Mercy Thompson series, Jacka's Alex Verus series, Thompson's Gaslight mysteries, Harris's Sebastian St. Cyr mysteries, Huber's Lady Darby series, and Castillo's Kate Burkholder mysteries. And I'm only one book behind in Bradley's Flavia de Luce series. So all is not lost.
What series do you love? Any of these?
Happy Reading!
This is a great idea and already I'm thinking about possible series to make up my list... LOL and it's a long one! I'm so bad at keeping up with series -- like Iron Druid? Love the series, but haven't finished it. On the upside, the other series on this list I didn't know about so there's more for me to start!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to keep up with a series when you're involved with more than one! But what can you do?
DeleteSo many series--the ones you are behind on and the ones you are pretty up to date with! I'm involved with many of the same ones and feel greedy for more episodes as soon as I finish a book.
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling! :D
DeleteI hope you find time to catch up on them soon!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
Thanks! So do I. :D
DeleteThat's quite a few series. Enjoy them when you get to them. https://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/07/ttt-072820.html
ReplyDeleteThanks! And thanks for stopping by and commenting. :)
DeleteI'm quite bad at following series, but then again they're also a joy to read especially if we love the characters and would love to see more of them with a new storyline. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to keep up with some series! But I do love these.
DeleteI don't know any of these series, but I will say that I love series - some I am hopelessly behind on, some I am all caught up, and some I am starting over from the beginning. They're really like one long book, or a TV show with a dozen seasons, or a soap opera. I love getting to know the characters and see how they evolve over time.
ReplyDeleteIf I love the characters I will stick with a series no matter what! :D
DeleteI wonder how you find the time for all these series, they all seems like long series.
ReplyDeleteI find it hard to read book series lately so I don't but I'm always looking for new books (series or not) just because what's reading if you don't go checking out new books?
Have a lovely day.
Well the truth is, I don't. Which is why I'm so far behind in these. Series are a real commitment and I struggle to keep up with them because there are always new books coming out that I want to read. :)
DeleteNice topic this week!
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my TTT post for this week:

Thanks! :)
DeleteThis is the problem with series. One gets started then has to wait for the next book to be published. In the meantime one starts another series and so forth. Good luck catching up or feel free to drop one or two of your least favorite.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week.
My Top Ten favorite books by month
All the series I have dropped along the way would fill another list! ;D
DeleteI just completed The Iron Druid Chronicles and it was brilliant. I still have a few short stories that I'd like to read in the series though. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLauren @ Always Me
I'm so glad to know that all the books in the Iron Druid series are as good as the first! Thanks for commenting. :D
DeleteThe one on your list that is my most favorite (and I'm all caught up) is Elly Griffiths' Ruth Galloway series. Love it. I've read one book in her Magic Men series, but didn't like it as well. I've meant to read The Body Farm series and also the Invisible Library one - haven't taken the time yet. My husband has read all of Kevin Hearne's series and liked it very much. And I've read the first two books in the Rockton series. I'm thinking about beginning that one again rereading those before continuing. I love series and do reread even long ones from time to time. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love a good series, too. I just obviously have a hard time keeping up with them. I guess I'm too easily distracted by new books. ;D
DeleteOh I hate it when I fall behind on a series. I really like the Rockton series- one of my faves. And I've only read the first Invisible Library so far... :(
ReplyDeleteKnowing I'm probably going to fall behind in a series is sometimes why I hesitate to begin new ones. :)
DeleteThe Invisible Library series sounds amazing! Is it any good? I've read only a standalone by Elly Griffiths, but it was very good. How are the series?
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: https://mamaneedsabook.blogspot.com/2020/07/next-up-classics.html
I really like both Elly Griffiths series! The Mephisto one is set in the 1950s in England while her Ruth Galloway is more current day. And I really liked the first book in the Invisible Library series! :) Thanks for commenting.
DeleteGreat idea for a topic! I hope you get around to finishing these series someday, if you want to! Here's my TTT list this week.
ReplyDeleteYour TTT list totally made me smile! Thanks for commenting.
DeleteI'm with you on freebies. I blank every time! You chose a great topic. I could make a Top 50 list using this topic. Ha ha. I'm also behind on the Rockton series and the Ruth Galloway series as well as the Lady Darby series. *Sigh* There are a *few* I'm caught up on, but not many ...
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT, Lark!
It's so easy to get behind in your reading, and so hard to catch up! But at least we'll always have books waiting to be read. :)
DeleteIt's so hard to keep up with series these days because authors seem to be publishing faster than before.
ReplyDeleteThey really do! Every year I seem to fall further behind. :)
DeleteWow...and just when I thought I had too many series to keep up with, you come up with this list. I feel much better now, so thank you. :-)
ReplyDeleteIn, my case, I'm reading seven current series, and I'm behind in three of them. Also, I've finished two series now that are not being added to (which I still regret).
It is sad when a beloved series comes to an end. But it does open up room to start a new one! :)
DeleteI just saw the cover of the newest (#8) Invisible Library book the other day. Like you, I only read the first one. Stormi and I have decided to tackle one a month following our finish of the Parasol Protectorate series - we only have 2 more. You're always welcome to join!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll have to see which are currently available from my library. :)
DeleteI'm so bad keeping up with series. I get too easily distracted with other books, lol. :D
ReplyDelete:D Don't we all!
DeleteI am terrible at keeping up with series. I'm trying to work on it but so many new books come out to distract me! lol
ReplyDelete:D I'm easily distracted by new books, too!
DeleteI'm all over the place on the Jefferson Bass books too. I've read so many out of order at this point that I really wouldn't even know where to go back to catch up!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to keep track, especially when they've written so many books! But I think the Bass series is one you can jump around in and not get too lost. :)
DeleteOh, the Rockton series! Love it. Hope you get to catch up soon.
ReplyDeleteIron Druid is really good, too. I had mixed feelings on the last book, though.
Both series are high on my summer To Read list. Of course, now that summer is almost over I might have to move them to my Read Before the End of the Year list. ;D
DeleteOoooh, you must catch up with Ruth Galloway! :-D
ReplyDeleteI'm working on it! :D
DeleteI can’t think of any series I have actually completed apart from the Sookie Stackhouse series and Harry Potter!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your list!
Well, there you go! Glad I'm not the only one who struggles to finish a series. :)
DeleteI loved the Iron Druid series and I've still to read the final book in the series. I keep putting it off because I'm sad that the series is ending!
ReplyDeleteIt is sad when a favorite series comes to an end! But that's what rereading is for. ;D
DeleteGood luck with catching up! I tend to avoid series because I get behind so quickly. It makes me reluctant to start.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
These days I'm a little more reluctant to start a new series, too! :)
DeleteI'm way behind on the Invisible Library series, and only about halfway through the Iron Druid series. And there are a bunch of other series I need to finish: the Heartstriker series, the Charles Lenox mysteries by Charles Finch (there are three in the middle that I haven't read); Tasha Alexander's Lady Emily series; Deana Raybourn's Lady Julia series, and more.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the first books in Tasha Alexander's Lady Emily series, but then I read a couple I didn't like as much, and haven't read any since. So I guess I'm way behind in that series, too. ;D
DeleteAll is not lost! I kind of shy away from series now...I've become a literary commitment-phobe. But I have read all the Flavia de Luce books I'm happy to say. I hope Bradley leaves it where it is now at ten books and writes something else...another series. I would certainly read anything else he tries his hand at! :D
ReplyDeleteI hesitate before beginning any new series lately, too. Because it is a commitment! :D
DeleteYou did a great job coming up with a theme. I totally could do one of these too because I'm seriously behind on a lot of series books I enjoy. I love the Ruth Galloway series but haven't checked out the other Elly Griffiths series.
ReplyDeleteIt's really easy to start series...and really hard to keep up with them. At least for me. :)
