Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's theme? Authors I Haven't Read, But Want To.
Only instead of doing ten, I decided to go with just my top five. Here they are:
1. Ann Cleeves
2. Thomas Perry
3. Craig Johnson
4. Robert Dugoni
5. Ragnar Jonasson
Then there are the new-to-me authors that I said I wanted to read last year, that I still haven't read, but hope to someday soon. Authors like: Louise Penny, Martha Wells, Marc Cameron and Christina Lauren. So many new authors to try! It's a nice problem to have. 😎
Happy Reading!
Some really good mystery novelists here and I really must try Ann Cleeves and Craig Johnson. Embarrassed to say I never went past Linda Castillo's first Kate Burkholder mystery and stopped at the 6th book in Lawrence Block's series. Too busy reading Louise Penny but I have to get back to these other great mystery novelists.
ReplyDeleteIf you do get back to Linda Castillo's Kate Burkholder series, her other books in this series are even better than her first, at least imo.
DeleteI'm always amazed (and pleasantly surprised) that there is always another good book to read when I finish the one I'm reading.
ReplyDeleteI love that fact! Where would we be without more good books to read? :D
DeleteI haven't read any of your authors but I hope you will enjoy them all.
ReplyDeleteI chose Nobel Prize winners for my TTT this week.
Can't wait to check out your own TTT this week. :)
DeleteThanks, Lark. Looking forward to seeing your comment.
DeleteI highly recommend Ann Cleeves and Thomas Perry. I have never been disappointed by their books.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know! The fact that so many people seem to like them is one reason why they're at the top of my list.
DeleteI haven't read any of these authors' books and Ann Cleeves' is high up on the list as I've heard many good things about her books. :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard good things about her books, too. Do you know which of her series you will start with?
DeleteI've no idea since there are a few series and I'll have to check them out before deciding. :D
DeleteIt is a good problem to have. :)
ReplyDeleteMy list will be up later hopefully :):)
Hi, Greg! Can't wait to check out your list. :)
DeleteI hope you enjoy all of their works!
ReplyDeleteMy post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-authors-i-havent-read-but-want-to/
Thank you, Lydia. :)
DeleteI've read and enjoyed all of those except for Dugoni, Wells, Cameron, and Lauren. I can highly recommend all the ones I have read.
ReplyDeleteYou've reviewed a lot of Cleeves' books lately on your blog that make me want to read her even more. :)
DeleteI haven't heard of any of these authors. I hope you get to read some of their work soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope I get around to reading them soon, too. ;)
DeleteI think if I just scrolled one or two pages further on my TBR, Ann Cleeves would have made my list as well today. I do still want to read her books!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Elza Reads
Your TBR list sounds like mine...very long and full of good books to read. :)
DeleteI agree, it is a nice problem to have. I hope you enjoy all of these authors. Happy reading! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ashley! :D
DeleteI would recommend Robert Dugoni's series. It's fast paced and suspenseful
ReplyDeleteI've heard good things about his books! :) Thanks for commenting.
DeleteI should have added all these authors! Nice list!
ReplyDeleteThanks. These authors have been on my Goodreads want to read list for awhile now. It's time I finally read them. :)
DeleteI have not read any of these, but am surprised you got away with only 5!! So many great authors, never enough time.
ReplyDeleteIf I had started listing all the authors out there that I haven't read yet but want to I would NEVER have finished this post! ;D So instead I just went with my top 5.
DeleteI've not read any Ann Cleeves either but have seen her books around for years. I did some more tanka-poem reviews in the style of your haiku reviews yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI saw them and they were awesome! :D
DeleteI hope you love all of these authors when you get to them. I haven't read any of them either.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed I like them all! ;D
DeleteNice list! I've read and enjoyed a few of Cleeves' mysteries. I read THE COLD DISH last year (I think) and liked it well enough, although I don't know if I'll move on with the series or not. Same goes for Dugoni. Louise Penny, on the other hand, I recommend wholeheartedly. You should DEFINITELY read the Armand Gamache series. It's one of my all-time favorites!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
I meant to start reading Penny's Armand Gamache series last year! I don't know what happened. It got lost somewhere in my long list of TBRs. :)
DeleteNice list! I haven't read any of these, although I remember a friend raving about Anne Cleeves at some point. Hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteA lot of people seem to really like Cleeves' books. Here's hoping I do, too. :)
DeleteLouise Penny and Martha Wells are definitely worth trying. I've read a few Ann Cleeves but I'm going to be controversial and say I prefer her books on the TV screen. Vera and Shetland are both wonderful, the casting is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI've never watched Vera or Shetland, but I have heard good things about both of them. :)
DeleteThere are a lot of new authors to try. All of these are new to me.
ReplyDeleteThey seem to be popular authors with a lot of people, which is why I've got them on my list to try. :)
DeleteI saw that In the Clearing book. I think I read a review somewhere. It looks good. I want to listen to it. So many authors, so little time.
ReplyDeleteMelanie @ Books of My Heart
In the Clearing does look good! And I agree...so many authors, way too little time. Thanks for commenting. :)
