Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's theme is Books With Weather Events in the Title... or on the Cover.
I managed to find ten books that fit the theme that I've actually read, liked and would recommend. Here they are:
Lightning by Dean R. Koontz
Outage by Ellisa Barr
Whiteout by Adriana Anders
Storm Front by Jim Butcher
Waiting on the Rain by Claudia Conner
The Fog by James Herbert
Flood Tide by Clive Cussler
Thunderhead by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child
Sandstorm by James Rollins
The Children's Blizzard by David Laskin
Happy Reading!
Great list! I've read one, Storm Front, and seen a film of one other, The Fog, from 1980... lots of times as it was always on TV back in the day and I loved watching it. :-) This is a good subject, because like a true Brit I 'love' weather!
ReplyDeleteYour weather-related TTT list this week was so great. It was a fun list to put together imo.
DeleteI think Lightning was the first book I ever read by Koontz (back in the 90's) and I remember loving it at the time. I don't recall much about it but now I kind of want to reread it.
ReplyDeleteLightning is one of my favorite Koontz books. I wouldn't mind rereading it sometime, too. :D
DeleteImpressive list you came up with. Only one I can recall at the moment is The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger. ha Lol.
ReplyDeleteWell that one certainly fits the category! I came up with my list just by looking over the books on my bookshelves.
DeleteOutage looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

I enjoyed Outage, but then I like those kind of apocalyptic disaster books.
DeleteThe Children’s Blizzard was such a good and sad read.
ReplyDeleteHere is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
Lydia
It really was! One of the better nonfiction books I've read.
DeleteI used to like James Herbert's books - I haven't read any for years but remember enjoying The Fog. Great list!
ReplyDeleteThe Fog is a fun one. It'd make a good October read. :D
DeleteWaiting on the Rain! I loved that book. Great choices today!
ReplyDeleteI loved Waiting on the Rain, too. I need to read some of Conner's other books.
DeleteClever grouping, Lark. I've only read The Children's Blizzard of this group, but I'm curious about the apocalyptic sounding Outage. That "Powerless Nation" bit caught my eye...one of my nightmare scenarios is a longterm power outage caused by terrorism or warfare. We would all be at each other's throats in a week, I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteHave you read Ted Koppel's excellent nonfiction book Lights Out? He talks about our power grid and its weaknesses and what would happen to us as a country if it went down....and it's one of the scariest books I've ever read.
DeleteThat's a good list, I am only familiar with a few of them. My husband read The Children’s Blizzard, and liked it so well he still has his copy. I have thought about reading Storm Front, the first of the Dresden Files.
ReplyDeleteI love Butcher's Dresden Files. They're very fun urban fantasy books.
DeleteNice mix of books and words!
ReplyDeleteI had a fun time putting together this list.
DeleteAn interesting list. I have not read any of them.
ReplyDeleteWell, I thought they were all good. I'd recommend them all. :D
DeleteWhiteout's been on my list for ages. I love a little scariness mixed in with snow :)
ReplyDeleteI love that snowy suspense kind of book, too. Especially when it's set in Antarctica!
DeleteYou did good finding those covers. I haven't read any of these.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few on here I think you'd probably really like. Like Whiteout and Waiting on the Rain. :D
DeleteYay for Whiteout! I almost included Waiting on the Rain as I enjoyed it too. I have Sandstorm but haven't read it yet. Great list, Lark! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of James Rollins, and I thought Sandstorm was a fun read.
DeleteHaven't heard of any of these.

Thanks for commenting. I can't wait to check out your TTT list this week.
DeleteThe only book from your list that I have read is Storm Front, which I loved.
ReplyDeleteI love Harry Dresden, too. It's such a great series! :D
DeleteThis week has taught me that there are a surprising number of books with weather. I had a hard time coming up with 10, but I've discovered a million new ones that I'd never heard of.
ReplyDeleteRight? And I think I added half of them to my TBR list;. ;D
DeleteOooh! I love the Lightning book! Great list!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my TTT
Rabbit Ears Book Blog: WORLD’S WEIRDEST BOOK BLOG!
Lightning is one of my favorite Dean R. Koontz books. That and Watchers. :D
DeleteWhat a fun list! I read Storm Front years ago and really enjoyed it. I really need to get back to that series. :)
ReplyDeleteFool Moon is a really good one in that series...one of my favs.
DeleteGreat list! You found a lot of weather events. I haven't read any of them but I know a few are on my TBR.
ReplyDeleteWell, they're all good reads. (At least I think they are.) :D
DeleteThis is a great prompt this week! John Sandford's HEAT LIGHTNING and Mindy Mejia's latest TO CATCH A STORM immediately came to mind.
ReplyDeleteTwo perfect titles for this week's prompt! To Catch a Storm is one I really want to read.
DeleteInteresting list, Lark. I'm not surprised we all found more titles with not so nice weather conditions. It's a more interesting theme to write about.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my TTT this week.
And the covers are more dramatic, too. Though I do love a beautifully sunny beach day on any book cover. :D
DeleteI totally agree, those covers are prettier but I prefer to read the books with the more sombre ones.
DeleteThe Children's Blizzard is on my tbr! And I'm a Koontz fan but I don't think I've read that one. Happy reading this week!
ReplyDeleteThere's a really good twist in it that I liked a lot.
DeleteGreat picks for this topic!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I had fun with this one.
DeleteGreat choices! And I haven't read Dean Koontz's for ages. I miss his older books.
ReplyDeleteHis older books are the best!
