(Alessandra is one independent, unapologetically calculating, and feisty heroine. I couldn't help but like her.)





Poisonous (Max Revere #3) by Allison Brennan


Cyberbully Ivy
is dead and no one cares but
her brothers. And Max.


Mystery/Suspense .... 354 pages .... 4/5 stars.
(Another compelling mystery!)

      I ended up really liking that book! A little fantasy, a little romance, a scheming main character that you really like. It was a fun read.

    These reviews make me wonder if publishers should start doing one-sentence reviews of their own because they make me more curious about the book than reading a 200-word publisher's blurb.

      :D Sometimes long blurbs say too much and make me decide NOT to read a book; short snippets that say less can be more intriguing.

    I agree with you and Sam... these short snippets are far more intriguing than huge long reviews which I struggle to get to the end of sometimes.

      I'm really liking Brennan's Max Revere series. This one has Lucy Kincaid in it, so now I want to read that series, too. :)

    Yay, more Haiku reviews! I read Shadows Between Us recently. Can't say I liked it much, but you're right -- the character was "unapologetically calculating" and you've got to admire her for that. :-)

      I couldn't agree with what all she did, but I liked her anyway. Maybe because she was so honest. And fearless.

    I love your Haiku reviews! I am terrible at writing Haikus, I admire how well you do it. I haven't read any of these books yet. They look interesting.

      Writing the haikus are fun...as long as you don't count my syllables too closely. I sometimes have to fudge a line here and there to make them work. :)
