12 Favorite Action, Suspense, Mystery, Thrillers:
2022 was a very good year of reading for me...here's hoping 2023 is even better.
Happy Reading!
Eleery Hathaway and Grave Reservations were two of my faves too!
ReplyDeleteEllery is such a great character; and I totally loved Grave Reservations! I'm excited to read its sequel. :D
DeleteAs I just mentioned, not only have I not read any of the books on your list, I don't think I've read any other books by those authors or have heard of them before. So many books, so little time.
ReplyDeleteThat is so true! I'll never get all the books on my TBR list read, but I keep trying. ;D
DeleteThat's all we can aim for.
DeleteI see so many raves for that Kelley Armstrong series. So glad these were all hits for you!
ReplyDeleteI love Armstrong's Rockton series; I'm only sad she's ending it. But she is starting a new series with her two main characters from it, so I'm eagerly awaiting that one next year. :D
DeleteGreat books. Regine
ReplyDelete:D Thanks.
DeleteGlad to see some of your favorite series produced some of your favorite books this year!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to have these series wrap up so well. I'm sad they're ending, but I did love these last books.
DeleteSadly, I have not read any of these books but I'm glad you did. I hope 2023 brings more delightful books your way.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Thank you so much! I'm hoping for wonderful reads in 2023, too. :D
DeleteThe only author on your list who is familiar to me is Ragnar Jonasson whose writing I have greatly enjoyed. It's great that you found all of these books and writers that you have enjoyed this year.
ReplyDeleteI do like Jonasson and am excited to read more of his books next year. :D
DeleteGreat list! I'm really hoping to start that Kelley Armstrong series this coming year. It sounds so good! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is. There is a lot of language in it, but I just love the characters so much!
DeleteI really liked Dead Silence too. And Grave Reservations. I want to give Burning Bright a try (and I agree about that cover!) Thank you for sharing your favorites with us!
ReplyDelete:D There's nothing I like better than sharing good books.
DeleteThanks for your list. I haven't read any of these.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the books on your end-of-year list either, but I always love seeing what you've been reading. :D
DeleteYou've read so many great books in 2022! Death and the Conjuror is one of my books of the year too.
ReplyDeleteThat was such a fun mystery. I'm so glad you recommended it on your blog. Thanks! :D
DeleteGlad you had a great reading year, yes, lets hope 2023 is an even better reading year for all of us!
ReplyDeleteYes! I hope 2023 is better in all the ways that matter. :D
DeleteI really need to get back to the Alex Verus series!
ReplyDeleteI love that series and was so sad when it ended. Alex Verus is one of my favorite characters. :D
DeleteGrave Reservations is on my TBR and Last Seen Alive looks really good. I have a few other books by that author on my TBR.
ReplyDeleteGrave Reservations is so fun! And before you read Last Seen Alive be sure to read the first one in the series: The Vanishing Season.
DeleteI like your way of dividing up your favorite books, Lark. Unique and interesting.
ReplyDeleteFor the Mystery and Thrillers, I haven't read any of the authors but there are several there that I want to try.
I have only read the first book in the Kelley Armstrong Rockton series, and I liked it a lot. I have books 2 and 3 on my shelves.
The Rockton series is so good. I love that one! And I'm looking forward to the new series she's starting with Eric and Casey next year.
DeleteWell, I better move forward on reading that series, if the series characters are now moving forward to a new series. I did wonder how long she could keep that scenario going.
DeleteYeah, the town of Rockton was kind of a ticking bomb. But I'm excited to see where she takes these characters next.
DeleteI never did do anything about The Wreckers even though I see I commented first on that post. LOL I will go and look it up. I too like your way of dividing up your genres.
ReplyDeleteThe Wreckers is a very fun science fiction adventure. I loved it. And thanks for always commenting on my posts! :D
DeleteYou are so welcome. I'm so glad we 'met' via our book blogs and here's to another year of swapping book recs. :-)
DeleteI haven't read any of these yet. I do love the Rockton series, but I'm way behind in it. Maybe 2023 will be the year I catch up!
ReplyDeleteShe's starting a new series with Eric and Casey next year, which I'm very excited to read. :D
DeleteBurning Bright looks really good. I had not heard of it before.
ReplyDeleteI loved the combination of historical fiction and magic.
DeleteHaven't read any of these books but will look out for them in 2023!
ReplyDeleteAll are very good...and very different from each other.
DeleteI've read none of your favorite thrillers, so my TBR for 2023 has just increased drastically haha
ReplyDeleteGlad I could help! ;D
DeleteI always love going around reading everyone's "best of" lists. Happy Reading and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy it, too. It's a fun way to add to my TBR list. ;D
DeleteYou had a lot of good reads this year. That fantasy cover is very fetching.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a cool cover? It's why I picked up that book in the first place. :D
DeleteI always love reading your reviews, even if the books are not books I would read, because I love how you always come up with the essence of the book or a creative way to write a review. (Haiku reviews are the best!!).
ReplyDeleteI wish you a good 2023, with good books, good blogs and I thank you for being a blog-friend! All the best for the new year.
Kind regards,
You said that very well, Bettina.
DeleteThanks, Bettina! I appreciate that. And I've enjoyed our blogging friendship over the years. :D
DeleteI'll have to catch up on the Rockton series and check out the books by Joanna Schaffhausen since I've heard nothing but raves about them. :)
ReplyDeleteThey're so good. I love Ellery and Reed, the two main characters. :D
DeleteYay for listing The Deepest of Secrets and Dark Horse. I want to try the Alex Verus series!
ReplyDeleteHow could I not list Dark Horse? Evan Smoak rocks. And the Alex Verus books are amazing urban fantasy. I love them. :D
DeleteI love the Rockston series, but I haven't read past Book 4 I think. Those are intense books, takes some serious gumption too! And thanks for the rec on Burning Bright - will check that out. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThe Rockton books are intense, and sometimes chilling. But they're also really good. And I hope you get a chance to read Burning Bright. It's a fun mix of historical fiction and fantasy. I loved the magic in it. Happy New Year! :D
DeleteOh so many books to check out. I haven't read any of these and actually just read one by Joanna Schaffhausen but it's from her other series. What a great reading year you had!
ReplyDeleteI did end up reading a lot of really good books. :D
DeleteYou are ahead of me on several series (I overdosed on Kelley Armstrong last summer and had to take a break after #5) but have given me some good ideas for other books!
ReplyDeleteGlad to help. ;D (Like your TBR list needed help!)
