That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's theme: Book Covers That Feel Like Summer.
I, of course, immediately thought of covers with beaches on them, because THE BEACH always feels like the epitome of summer to me. Like these three lovely, summery covers:
But there are other things that scream summer to me...like ICE CREAM...
And then there are those fun summer outdoor activities like HIKING...
and, of course, SWIMMING!
And no summer is complete without at least one ROAD TRIP read:
But my favorite SUMMER covers still have to be these:
Some lovely covers there, Lark. So, so summery.ReplyDelete
My favourite would be "The Road Trip". So British.
My TTT is a Top Twelve this week.
I loved the books you picked for this week's TTT. The hardest part for me was narrowing it down to ten (or twelve!) because there are so many fun summery covers out there to choose from. :)Delete
What pretty covers. They make me want to go to the beach.ReplyDelete

They make me want to go to the beach, too!Delete
Love those covers! I've The Road Trip but haven't got around to reading it yet.ReplyDelete
I haven't read it either; I just thought the cover worked really well for this week's TTT. :)Delete
I like the variety of subjects on your covers. Yes to ice cream and yes to camping!ReplyDelete
Summertime is more than just the beach, so I felt I had to represent. ;DDelete
I love these covers! They definitely all scream summer. :DReplyDelete
I thought they were fun covers. :)Delete
Mary Kay Andrews always has such fun, summery covers. I love that one you chose.ReplyDelete
Thanks. I had fun choosing them. :)Delete
I love the novels about road trips. I just got back from one. They definately factor into a lot of summer memories. Fun covers. Here is my TTTReplyDelete
We always took a road trip in the summer when I was a kid, so they feel like summer to me, too. :DDelete
You have all the bases covered: the beach, camping, ice cream. Looks like summer to me! :)ReplyDelete
Thanks! That's what I was going for. :DDelete
Excellent list, Lark! I agree: beach, ice cream, road trips :)ReplyDelete
Right? You've got to have all three for it to really be summer. :)Delete
I just love Shipwrecked Summer! These are all so summery. Nice choices, LarkReplyDelete
I love the cover of Shipwrecked Summer; it's a book I do really want to read. :)Delete
I think I read The Road Trip but for some reason never reviewed it on my blog or on goodreads. I remember enjoying the rom comReplyDelete
I haven't actually read that one, but it's on my TBR list. (Boy do I say that a lot!) ;DDelete
I think designing book covers is an art in and of itself. Its main goal is to catch the browser's attention and draw him/her in. The examples that you have shown do that very well.ReplyDelete
I know they're all covers that definitely drew my attention. :)Delete
Beaches definitely always make me think of summer too.ReplyDelete
My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2022/07/12/top-ten-tuesday-376/
I love beach covers on books! Probably because I'd love to live at the beach one day. :)Delete
These are all wonderful! I love those beachy covers... but ice cream and road trips are absolutely summer vibes too!ReplyDelete
Can't do summer without ice cream! :DDelete
I love how you set up your post. Summer vibes are definitely here and I can feel the heat. I have read a few of these, but there are a couple that I will be investigating. Great choices, Lark.ReplyDelete
Thanks so much! There are so many fun summery book covers out there I had fun choosing these.Delete
A great collection! And you're right, summer means an epic road trip!ReplyDelete

My childhood was filled with family road trips every summer, so it doesn't feel quite like summer now without one. :)Delete
Such a great selection of covers. I especially love the Jill Shalvis.ReplyDelete
Doesn't it make you want to go outside and jump in a pool? :)Delete
I'm actually in the middle of The Middle of Somewhere right now! I had to tear it away from myself because it made me feel I NEED to go hiking now, like immediately, and I want to save the rest as a reward for finishing an hour or so of trails.ReplyDelete
I love the structure of this post too, you have definitely covered all the bases with summer activities! Every cover is perf for this theme; lots of interesting-looking books on this list that I might use for similar motivation to do other fun summer things.
Thanks for all your kind comments! I had fun putting this post together. And I can't wait to read The Middle of Somewhere before summer ends. :)Delete
Loved Out of the Clear Blue Sky and The Road Trip! Yep, the beach or the lake embodies summer for me, too! :)ReplyDelete
Must be that water thing! ;DDelete
Beaches are what popped into my head first as well! Great picks!ReplyDelete

The beach always feels like summer to me. Too bad I don't live by one. Thanks for commenting! :)Delete
OMG! Chiggers. That reminds me of the summer I spent on my aunt and uncle's farm in Texas. My cousins and I went exploring in the brush and when I got back to my aunt's house, I had to take a bath with clorox to kill any chiggers I might have gotten. Fortunately, it did the trick.ReplyDelete
A clorox bath! I've never heard of that, but I'm glad it worked.Delete
