Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's theme: BOOK COVERS THAT GIVE OFF FALL VIBES. Only I changed it up a bit. Because when I think of books with fall vibes, I think of books with school settings...whether boarding schools, private colleges, etc. So that's what I went with for my list today, BOOKS WITH A SCHOOL SETTING. Some of these I've read, and others are on my TBR list.
Cat Among the Pigeons by Agatha Christie
Good Girls Lie by J.T. Ellison
The Eights by Joanna Miller
Prep School Confidential by Kara Taylor
The Lake of Dead Languages by Carol Goodman
Gentlemen & Players by Joanne Harris
The Ivy by Lauren Kunze
The Academy by Elin Hilderbrand
The Grimoire Grammar School Parent Teacher Association by Caitlin Rozakis
Happy Reading!
I love your twist on this week's theme! I enjoyed The Eights and Cat Among the Pigeons.
ReplyDeleteI loved Cat Among the Pigeons, and am really looking forward to reading The Eights. :D
DeleteI also think your interpretation was fun. I've enjoyed a lot of books set at schools or including schools. I've read The Lake Dead Languages, Good Girls Lie, and, of course, Cat Among the Pigeons. I recently picked up The Academy, so we'll see how that one goes. And the others provide more to put on the list. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI hope The Academy is a good as it sounds. It's one I want to read soon.
DeleteThat's an interesting theme. Always lots of drama in schools!
ReplyDeleteThat's so true. :D
DeleteOne of my favorite books set in a school is The Secret History.
ReplyDeleteOoh...that would have been a perfect book for this list.
DeleteThe Lake of Dead Languages looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteThat's the first book by Carol Goodman I ever read, and one of my favs by her. :D
DeleteGood twist on the topic, I went with books that with links to fall for me rather than just the book covers.

I liked your post a lot! Thanks for commenting. :D
DeleteInteresting, some of them don't sound very autumn-y but I'm sure you chose them well. I have done that subject so often that I took a break this time.
ReplyDeleteI've done autumn covers before, so that's why I focused more on books with school settings this time around. Because fall and school just seem to go together in my mind. :D
DeleteIt definitely is a nice idea. But I don't have a lot of energy, at the moment, so I am always glad when I can skip a week.
DeleteI skip a lot of weeks...so I totally understand. ;D
DeleteTrue, I don't see your TTTs often. But yes, we all do what we prefer.
DeleteI love it when people put their own twist on the week's topic! School settings is a good choice for fall. I haven't read Cat Among the Pigeons in decades; I should revisit it sometime. And I'd like to read The Grimoire Grammar School Parent Teacher Association; it sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteI stuck pretty close to the topic for my TTT list this week.
The Grimoire Grammar School is fun with magic and PTA moms who aren't very nice and lots of humor. I enjoyed it.
DeleteHow fun, I like that you made this your own.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary. :D
DeleteFun twist. If I had thought of school I think I would have been able to find books I've read on the theme.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I went this direction this week. I like that school setting so it was easy to come up with a list. And easy is always good. ;D
DeleteI love Agatha Christie! Thank you for this list.
ReplyDelete:D
DeleteNice tweak! I have seen several new to me Agatha Christie books represented today! One was about Halloween and another about Autumn...I really need to go see what all she wrote.
ReplyDeleteI've read maybe half of her books and have really enjoyed most of them. Cat Among the Pigeons is one of my favs.
DeleteLove that cover for Cat Among the Pigeons and I love Agatha Christie! I really enjoyed The Eights! The UK cover you have featured here is so much nicer than the US version. Great list here, Lark! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to read The Eights. It does sound like a really good one. :D
DeleteGreat twist! I love this idea. I recently acquired, The Grimoire Grammar School Parent Teacher Association, and I'm excited to read it!
ReplyDeleteI thought that was a fun one. :D
DeleteI like your version of the topic! I've been wanting to read The Lake of Dead Languages for a while now -- I don't even remember how I first came across it. Nice to have the reminder!
ReplyDeleteIt's my favorite book by Carol Goodman. :D
DeleteFall reminds me of school as well, although this year, my daughter started school at the end of July! LOL
ReplyDeleteI like school settings as well. I've read a few of these and several of the others are on my TBR list.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
July is early! The school where I work always starts in the middle of August. But then we get out at the end of May and get 2 weeks off at Christmas, so it's a good trade off imo.
DeleteWhat a fun twist to the topic. Schools are always a good setting. So much potential for drama.
ReplyDeleteYes! One of the reasons I enjoy them so much.
DeleteLove these - especially The Grimoire Grammar School Parent Teacher Association! Happy Thursday!
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun read. More about the parents than the magic though.
DeleteLove your take on this topic and great choices! I really like Cat Among the Pigeons. It's not her best book but it is a fun one. I love the cover for The Academy. It's definitely on my TBR.
ReplyDeleteCat Among Pigeons was fun. And I'm hoping The Academy is as good as it sounds, too.
DeleteNice list, Lark. Christie made more than one bloggers' list this week.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised. Her books are classics. :D
DeleteOhh I wanna read that last one! Good theme
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun one.
DeleteYeah The Academy looks like fall .... and I'm curious if it's a good Hilderbrand story.
