Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.  This week's topic is Top Ten Books on my fall TBR list.  And though it was hard to narrow down my list to just ten, I finally did it.  Here they are:

1.  Ghost Song by Sarah Rayne

2.  The Shining by Stephen King

3.  The Dire King by William Ritter (Jackaby #4)

4. The Prisoner of Heaven by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

5.  Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

6.   The Dead Duke, His Secret Wife, and the Missing Corpse:  An Extraordinary Edwardian Case of Deception and Intrigue by Piu Marie Eatwell

7.  Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte

8.  They Came From Baghdad by Agatha Christie

9.  Hello Again by Brenda Novak

10.  Girl Last Seen by Nina Laurin

Happy Reading!

  3. I'm assuming since you're on book four of the Jackababy series that you're liking it? I've wondered about that one. The cover to Girl Last Seen is awesome!

    1. I really love the Jackaby series. The first book is the best, but the others have been good. And I love the characters. So I'm really looking forward to this next one.

  5. That's a great list! I read They Came to Baghdad earlier this year and loved it. The Dead Duke is a fascinating read too.

    1. I remember your reviews of those two books; that's partly why they're on my list. :)

  6. Nice to see you have a few spooky reads planned!

I hope you blog about The Dead Duke, His Secret Wife, and the Missing Corpse. I have a soft spot for Victorian/Edwardian true crime.

  7. I had a hard time narrowing down my list too. So much temptation! I have only read The Shining from your list, and I liked it. It wasn't my favorite King novel though. Your other choices all sound good. I hope you enjoy them all! Thanks for sharing, Lark!

  9. I love The Shining! I just re-read it a couple of years ago -- it definitely stands up over time!

  10. A lot of Stephen King fans love The Shining yet it was one of his early offerings that I wasn't greatly keen on! Hope you'll have a good time with it!

  12. I've read two books by Sarah Rayne--one I liked, the other not so much. I am interested in the new Jackaby, but I haven't read #3 yet!

  14. I read STALKING JACK THE RIPPER earlier this year. I liked it, didn't love it. I'll be interested to see what you think.

GIRL LAST SEEN sounds really good! I hadn't heard of it before, but now I HAVE to read it :)

    1. Doesn't it? For some reason every fall I find myself hunting for eerie reads. I'm not sure why. But it happens every year. :)

  16. A nice, eclectic mix! The only one I've read is the Agatha Christie. I hope you enjoy them all. :-)

  17. Interesting mix--for years The Shining was the only Stephen King I had read (I've read a few more recently, but it's a doozy)--you'll have to come to Colorado and visit the Stanley Hotel when you're done! I hope to read Agnes Grey next year--just finished a long bio of the Brontes, so I am eager to finish reading the works I haven't read yet. Confession--I gave up on the Dead Duke book mid-way through. Thought I would love it, but didn't.

    Enjoy your fall reading!

    1. I've been meaning to read Agnes Grey for forever and decided it was finally time. (I'll let you know if I manage to finish the Dead Duke book.) And I didn't know the Stanley Hotel was in Colorado...I'll definitely have to plan a visit. :)
