Happy Reading!
Who do you love?
Happy Reading!
What a fun list! I would add Dorothy Sayers' Peter Wimsey & Harriet Vane,Jane Austen's Anne Elliot & Captain Wentworth, and my favorite Georgette Heyer couple, Gervase St Erth & Drusilla Morville (The Quiet Gentleman).
ReplyDeleteOh, I love The Quiet Gentleman. And Anne and Capt. Wentworth are a favorite couple as well. As for Sayers' Peter Wimsey series, it's one I still need to try. Thanks, Lisa! :)
DeleteLove this list :) I'm with you on Mina and Jonathan - definitely would be on my list.
ReplyDeleteThey're a true and equal partnership. :)
DeleteI'm seeing Mercy and Adam on a lot of lists today and rightfully so. They are a great couple.
ReplyDeleteI love them. :)
DeleteThat's a fun list! I haven't read any of these titles except the Mercy Thompson Series and I'm not even up-to-date with it. :p
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to keep up with a series, isn't it?...And there's always more books out there that I haven't read than I have. It's my bookish curse. ;D
DeleteLaura and Alonzo for sure! And, yes, Kiera and Sebastian have to be on here.
ReplyDeleteThey're the best, aren't they?
DeleteThe only I've read about on your list is Laura Almonzo. Been a long time since I read those books. I am doing a reread (re-listen) of Deborah Crombie's mystery series and it contains one of my favorite couples - Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James. I'm also very partial to J.D. Robb's Eve Dallas and her Roarke. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check both of those out. Thanks! :)
DeleteOoh, Laura and Almanzo are a good answer. Wish I'd thought of them!
ReplyDeleteThis is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
They helped define romance for me. :) Thanks for commenting!
DeleteI don't know why I didn't think of Jean and Joe from A Town Called Alice. I love that book and have read it so many times. My favorite literary couples
ReplyDeleteThey're great, aren't they? I love the book and the mini series they made back in the 80s. :) Thanks for commenting!
DeleteA big yes to Mercy and Adam! I very much enjoy their relationship.
ReplyDeleteThey're kind of awesome. :)
DeleteYes! Mina and Jonathan! They're such a great couple! Dracula is one of my favorite books. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favorite books, too!! :)
DeleteGilbert Blythe and Anne Shirley are one of my favorite bookish couples. Laura and Almanzo are my favorite couple on your list. I think reading the Little House books when I was a kid was my first foray into romance. My Great-Grandma gave me the books for my birthday and read them with me. She LOVED the romance between Laura and Almanzo.
ReplyDeleteI love the romance between them, too. And I can totally see why Anne and Gilbert are one of your favorite bookish couples! :)
Delete#2 - I remember reading 'a room with a view' and liking it but now I kind of don't remember anything but the movie. I did like george and lucy though I must admit, I didn't remember his name
ReplyDeletesadly, I didn't read the other books on your list. it's good as readers we get to enjoy different books.
have a lovely day.
It is good that we all read differently. I'm often inspired by what other people are blogging about; it broadens my own bookish horizons. :D
DeleteMina and Jonathan- love that choice! And Raederle/ Morgan haha- get out! Nobody ever talks about those books lol.
ReplyDeleteI love them! :D (And more people should talk about them, don't you think?)
DeleteOh my goodness, yes for Adam and Mercy! I'm insanely addicted to the series! I just recently did a re-read and I loved it even more than the first time. Yes, to George and Lucy too! I didn't read A Room With a View but the movie is one of my all-time favorites and I've watched it soooo many times! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Mercy Thompson series is one I can read over and over again, too! And ya gotta love George and Lucy. (The movie version is great, isn't it?)
DeleteWhat a nice list! I actually love Mina and Jonathan from the Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)
ReplyDeleteThey're so great, aren't they?
DeleteI’ve read the Little House Books, Dracula and Room with a View and I agree with you there on all counts!
ReplyDeleteI also second Lisa’s choice of Lord Peter & Harriet Vane.
I don’t think I read many books with couples in them. I feel like Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy are probably overused, but I do love that book!
I felt like everyone would have Eliabeth and Mr. Darcy on their lists....which is why I didn't put them on mine.
DeleteI actually haven't read any of these, but Why Mermaids Sing has a beautiful cover!
ReplyDeleteThat's the first C.S. Harris book I ever read and the one that hooked me on this series. :)
DeleteMina and Jonathan! What an original addition!
ReplyDeleteI love them. :)
DeleteMina and Jonathan! I love Dracula but I'd never have thought to add those two.
ReplyDeleteI really need to read the Mercy Thompson series at some point. I read the first one way back when but it just didn't click for me. However, I love the Alpha and Omega spin off so I think I just need to try again.
Dracula is one of my favorite books. :) Thanks for commenting.
DeleteOh I love seeing Kiera and Sebastian! Love your list of couples.
ReplyDeleteKiera and Sebastian are a great couple, aren't they? I love those books. :)
DeleteI do love Adam and Mercy together. :-) And John and Sig. And Mina and Jonathan. I love your list, Lark.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Wendy! I had fun putting it together. :)
DeleteHi Lark, thanks for this great list about bookish couples. I was drawing a blank and then I realised that one of my favorite bookish couples is John Tomassetti and Kate Burkholder in Linda Castillo's Kate Burkholder mystery series. Only read the first book in this series but Kate and John have alot of chemistry.
ReplyDeleteYou're right! I like them, too. :)
DeleteThere are a few here I've read and enjoyed (Laura and Almanzo, Raederle and Morgan) though I wouldn't have included them in my favorites. There are a few others on my want-to-read lists. If I had done this TTT, I would have chosen, among others: Anne and Gilbert (the Anne of Green Gables series); Lord Peter Wimsey and Harriet Vane; Roderick Alleyn and Troy (the Insp. Alleyn mysteries); Colin and Penelope (Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn), and Winnie the Pooh and Piglet (hey, no one said the couples had to be romantic!)
ReplyDeleteWinnie the Pooh and Piglet are perfect! And maybe Snoopy and Woodstock, too?
