Randomness...

Just finished reading Night Will Find You by Julia Heaberlin, and I enjoyed it. If you're curious as to why, check out Rachel's awesome review of it, which is the reason I decided to read this one in the first place.

Here are the books I checked out of the library and am hoping to read in November:
(I also have several Christmas-y romances on hold, but who knows when they'll all come in.)

Battle For the Big Top by Les Standiford
Dead Mountain: The Untold True Story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident by Donnie Eichar
Watch Her Disappear by Lisa Regan
Spring Girls by Karen Katchur
Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa
Dark Ambitions by Irene Hannon
NPCs by Drew Hayes
Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Ellie Cosimano
All Shall Be Well by Deborah Crombie
Once Upon a Tome: The Misadventures of a Rare Bookseller by Oliver Darkshire

I've also been binge-watching the first season of Grimm and watching The Amazing Race!
(Both shows are favorites of mine.)

And here's my quote for the month:

Happy Reading!

  1. We watched all of Grimm one winter several years ago. Loved it!

  2. Hi there, Lark! I'm finally getting back around to commenting on blogs and also hope to update mine soon. Anyway, we enjoyed Grimm several years ago. Loved the setting! The only book from your 'check-out' list I've read is the Deborah Crombie book. I love that series. Waiting for the next book. Also agree with the 'grateful for everything' cartoon. Take care!

  3. I'm excited for the new Heaberlin book. I really liked her last one. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

I love the Peanuts quote. Gratitude is so important! I'm glad we have at least one month in the year when everyone focuses on being thankful for what we have.

    1. It is good that we take one month out of the year to focus on being thankful for our blessings. The world would be a much better place if we all did that more often.

  4. Dead Mountain sounds intriguing! I've got several popular books on hold that should be coming through this month. Lessons in Chemistry, Tom Lake, and Steven King's latest should all be on tap soon. I also was just sent John Grisham's followup to The Firm, so I'm eager to dive into that one too!

  7. My Friday morning coffee group always try to put aside 15 minutes for "Good News Friday" conversation. I regret to admit that sometimes lately we've struggle to find five minutes worth...maybe I'll bring this meme along tomorrow morning. :-)

    1. Finding good news these days can be tricky, but I can usually find something to be grateful for...like electricity and garbage trucks if nothing else. ;D

  11. LOL, I should totally link to someone else's review some time!! I love your quote, Snoopy is the best! I was just thinking today that I should start putting some Christmas books on hold at the library. I am REALLY trying to finish all my ARCs and books for my challenges THIS month so I can mood read the rest of the year with no deadlines.
