Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's theme is DESTINATION TITLES which I thought was a very fun idea. And easy, too. I just went to my bookshelves and came up with a list of these ten books...all with destinations in their titles.
3. Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns
4. Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson
5. A Death in Vienna by Daniel Silva
6. The Ghost Riders of Ordebec by Fred Vargas
7. A Town Like Alice by Nevil Shute
8. The Red Planet by Robert Heinlein
9. The Valley Where Time Stood Still by Lin Carter
10. Treasure of Egypt by Barbara Ivie Green
Don't you just love traveling by book to all of these fun, faraway places?
Happy Reading!
I love traveling period. Much love.

<3 Traveling is the best. I wish I could do more of it.
DeleteNice job, Lark and haven't read even one of these books. Maybe one day. :-)
ReplyDeleteThey're all good...especially A Town Like Alice! And I really love Fred Vargas's mysteries and Daniel Silva's thrillers. :D
DeleteCold Sassy Tree and A Town Like Alice are two of my very favorite books.
ReplyDeleteMy list is here: TTT
Mine, too. I've read each of them multiple times. :D
DeleteI definitely love armchair traveling, and I would love to go to Cold Sassy (what a wonderful book!!!), Cranford (of course), and Alice as well as a town like Alice (what was it called anyway?). I regret not visiting Vienna when I was in Germany 18 months ago--we were 45 minutes from it--but we just couldn't fit it in.
ReplyDeleteGreat list.
That is too bad you didn't get to Vienna. I'd like to go there someday, too.
DeleteI love that you included some SFF titles in your list! (So did I.) The only one I have read of these is Red Planet, and it's been decades. I'd like to read Cranford someday, though, and Treasure of Egypt looks good.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't resist putting in The Red Planet; I love Heinlein's books. :D
DeleteI loved that this was such an easy topic today! I needed easy :)
ReplyDeleteI needed easy this week, too! :D
DeleteThose are all new to me.
ReplyDeleteWell, they are all books I can happily recommend. :D
DeleteI enjoyed Cranford and have A Town Like Alice on the TBR. Great list!
ReplyDeleteA Town Like Alice is one of my most favorite books. I've read it several times. :D
DeleteThere are some unique destinations here! I've read THE COLD SASSY TREE, but that's it from this list.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
There are some others here that you might like...not that you need more titles to add to your TBR list. ;D
DeleteThat's an impressive list. The only one of these that I've actually read is "A Death in Vienna" although I feel as though I've read some of the others because I've seen film adaptations of the books.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes count that as having read a book. ;D
DeleteNice list! It's great to see Cranford listed, plus Heinlein! Definitely an eclectic mix of books!
ReplyDeleteThat's how I like to read. :D
DeleteThe Red Planet would be such a dangerous but exciting place to visit.
ReplyDeleteMy post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-destination-titles/
I'm always drawn to books that are set on Mars! :D
DeleteI’m curious about Cranford.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Cranford is a lot of fun. One of the funnier, and shorter, classics that I've read.
DeleteI haven't read any of these, but Cold Sassy Tree sounds fun! This was a fun and easy prompt to put together! :)
ReplyDeleteI really liked Cold Sassy Tree! And I loved this prompt. It was very easy, and very fun, to do. :D
DeleteI love this week’s theme! Destination titles are such a creative way to explore new places through books.
ReplyDeleteHaven sounds like a captivating read—definitely adding it to my list. And A Town Like Alice has always piqued my interest.
Books really do let us travel to places we might not visit otherwise. Happy reading adventures to you!
Haven was a fun dystopian/post-apcalyptic kind of novel, and I love A Town Like Alice. It's such a great classic love story. Thanks for commenting. :D
DeleteI've wanted to read Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns! Maybe one day, I'll get to it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good one! I think you'd like it.
DeleteThe only author I recognize from your list is Daniel Silva, and he's extremely popular with my library patrons. I haven't read his work yet. Have a great Wednesday, Lark!
ReplyDeleteI love Silva's Gabriel Allon series. Especially The Confessor!
DeleteWhat a fun list! I loved Edenbrooke! :)
ReplyDeleteEdenbrooke's the best! Such a cute and funny romance. :D
DeleteWow, you did great! All from your shelves?! I struggled with this topic so much!! lol
ReplyDeleteApparently I love books that have a destination in the title. Who knew? ;D
DeleteOh great choices! I don't know that I've read any of these though I feel like I've either read or owned Cold Sassy Tree at some point. I love the look of Edenbrooke.
ReplyDeleteEdenbrooke is a very humorous and cute Regency romance. I think you would like it. :D
DeleteNice list, I haven't read any of these but pretty cover on Edenbrooke.
ReplyDeleteIt's a humorous and fun romance.
DeleteI haven't heard of these books before, I'll have to look into them. Cranford seems really interesting :)
ReplyDeleteIf you'd like to visit, here's my TTT: https://thebooklorefairy.blogspot.com/2024/11/top-ten-tuesday-destination-titles.html
Cranford is great! Short, and so funny.
DeleteI have read "A Town Called Alice" but that's about it. We have been to completely different places.
ReplyDeleteHere are my destinations:

Not surprising...there's such a variety of books with destinations in their titles...I could have easily chosen ten different books from off my shelves for this list. :D
DeleteI'm sure. I was surprised to find so many smaller places on some lists.
DeleteI've wanted to read Cold Sassy Tree for so long! My Georgia grandmother loved it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great book. One worth checking out.
DeleteGood list! I still would like to read Cold Sassy Tree and the Nevil Shute classic. thx for the reminder about these
ReplyDeleteThey're both excellent books!
