Achieve Anything in Just One Year by Jason Harvey is a book that can help you reach them. After all, "the key to a happier life is contained in the dreams you already have." This book is divided into 365 days, with each day offering a quote, something to ponder on in your own life, some advice, and an assignment. I'm on Day 24. The quote for today is by Andrew Carnegie:
"If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your hopes."The idea is that we need to be goal-oriented if we want to live a happier life. As Harvey writes, "Happiness does not happen randomly. It is the result of a series of actions." And his assignment for this day is to set a really exciting goal that will make you feel proud when you achieve it. So, that's what I'm working on. Can't wait to see what Day 25 brings.
Happy Reading!
Love the quote, "Happiness does not happen randomly." I think happiness does take effort. My goals are not terribly exciting, but I do feel good when I achieve them. :)
ReplyDeleteEven small goals count! Which is a good thing, because none of my goals are ever earth-shatteringly important, but they move me forward in my life. :)
DeletePerfect book to start the year! (I just added it to my TBR.)
ReplyDeleteIt's been a really good book for goal-setting and being more open to opportunity and for changing your mindset; I'm really liking it a lot.
DeleteHappy is my chosen word for 2016 and I do find being aware and present in all the little moments can really make me happy. Sounds like an interesting book and I love that quote. I'm a huge believer in goals and enjoying the journey to goal.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to put more happy into my life this year...and there are a lot of good ideas and practices in this book that seem to help with that goal.
