Blood of Eden by Tami Dane
Sloan's internship with
the F.B.I.: A hunt for
the supernatural.
Paranormal Mystery .... 344 pages .... 2.5/5 stars.
(Had some fun moments that I really liked, but overall, this one could have been a lot better!)
Ghost Huntress: The Awakening by Marley Gibson
In her new town, something
strange is going on. Kendall's hearing
voices. Ghostly ones.
YA .... Paranormal ..... 338 pages .... (barely) 3/5 stars.
(A bit uneven in pacing and voice: I wanted this one to be better, too.)
Floats the Dark Shadow by Yves Fey
An artist helps chase down
a serial killer reincarnate
in La Belle Epoque Paris.
Literary Mystery .... 330 pages .... 4/5 stars.
(Loved the eerie atmosphere, the writing, the suspense, the two main characters, and the Paris setting!)
Yay for haiku reviews! Sorry the books weren't better, but I always enjoy this review format.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan. I wish the books had been better, too, although I did really like Floats the Dark Shadow.
Delete1 out of 3 isn’t too bad. I love your haiku reviews. I should do some. I have several books that need reviewed and am just not in the mood to sit and write them up.
ReplyDelete:D I know that feeling! Haiku reviews are much faster to write.
DeleteI have never read haiku reviews before!
ReplyDeleteI've done them a couple of times when I'm feeling lazy and don't want to write a longer review. :D
DeleteI love these, Lark! And I think I read that Ghost Huntress book several years ago and maybe the next one after it...don't remember much about it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kay. I think Ghost Huntress is one of those books that's fun at the time, but not very memorable. :)
DeleteFloats the Dark Shadow sounds really good, and I like the cover. It's too bad about Blood of Eden.
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to like Blood of Eden, and it started off well, but then it fell short in plotting and a few other areas as it went along. It did have some fun moments though. Floats the Dark Shadow was a much better read, although it was also a darker one.
DeleteYou are so clever with these haiku reviews! I love it! That last one sounds really fun!
ReplyDeleteI liked Floats the Dark Shadow the best of the three. :)
DeleteThese haiku reviews are great! Float The Dark shadow sounds awesome, and very atmospheric with that PAris setting...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Greg. And I loved the Paris setting in Floats the Dark Shadow. Totally made me want to go back. :)
DeleteThese are perfect! So fun.
ReplyDeleteYay for another haiku reviews! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so skilled at the haiku review! I wish I had your talent. I use way too many words to get a point across.
ReplyDeleteSome books lend themselves to a haiku-size summary better than others. :D
DeleteI love your haiku reviews! They're so fun! Floats the Dark Shadow sounds like a great read.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ashley! And Floats the Dark Shadow is a really great read....but it is a little dark.
DeleteI think I would read any of these just based on your haiku reviews! Love these.
ReplyDeleteYou're so nice. Thank you. :)
DeleteThe last one really appeals to me. Love your haiku reviews, Lark!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenclair! (And Floats the Dark Shadow is a very good read.)
