I went more chilly than cozy as well this week! I love a good creepy snow setting!
ReplyDeleteCreepy snow settings are the best, especially when it comes to suspense. Can't wait to check out your list! :)
DeleteSnowy settings and covers always entice me! I've read the first four books and saw the film Winter's Bone. Now I have more snowy mysteries to look forward to!
ReplyDeleteI have Smilla's Sense of Snow coming through Interlibrary loan and I'm very excited to give it a read.
DeleteI picked a lot of suspense for my Cozy/Witry Top Ten as well, lol! There's a lot of thriller/suspense reads with the wintry setting. I haven't read any of these so I'll have to check them out. Great list, Lark! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's surprising how many suspense books have wintry settings. But I'm also glad 'cause I think they're a lot of fun. Can't wait to check out your list! :D
DeleteI've only read one of these -- WINTER'S BONE -- and it was depressing as all get out! It was memorable, though. I'll have to check out some of these others.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
I read Winter's Bone after I saw the movie. And while I liked it, I would NOT want to have to live in such a depressing and dark place.
DeleteI love snowy covers. I saw Winter's Bone movie version and I agree with Susan - super depressing! I really am interesting in The Ice Princess. Might have to look into it further.
ReplyDeleteI still need to read The Ice Princess, too. It looks good, doesn't it?
DeleteI haven't read any of those! Eek!
ReplyDeleteThe world is full of books that I haven't read. :D
DeleteOoh even the colors are chilly! I LOVE a good suspenseful/ scary read set in a cold setting. All of these look fabulous, but just going off covers I'm super interested in Hypothermia, the first Girl in the Ice (or heck- both lol) and The Ice Princess, which looks way creepy!
ReplyDeleteI think those covers look good, too. :)
DeleteA very chilly but fun list. And the hot chocolate sounds lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love hot chocolate when it's cold outside! :) Thanks for commenting.
DeleteGreat list! Love the double entendre. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks. :D
DeleteThere's lots of great looking books on your list. I love suspenseful books that take place in chilly settings.
ReplyDeleteThere's just something about them that makes me want to read them. :)
DeleteAwesome list!! Just looking at these covers makes me cold!
ReplyDelete:D They make me want to curl up on the couch under a blanket and read.
DeleteI think just reading these titles make me want to grab a cup of tea to warm up! haha.. You know, I need to keep this list for when we are melting in the summer and I need some cold settings to imagine what winter is like in other places. Great list!
ReplyDeleteYou do need cold reads for when it's too hot to go outside in the summer! :)
DeleteThose definitely look chilly as well as chilling! I think I have a copy of Cover of Snow on my physical to-read shelves someplace. Not being heavily into thrillers, I've been putting it off, but I should give it a try this winter.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever do read that one, let me know if you like it. :)
DeleteI have read a couple of these and definitely think they are worthy of your list! I read and loved Smila's Sense of Snow years ago and Winter's Bone is so good! I really liked the movie version as well. Great list, Lark!
ReplyDeleteI just got a copy of Smila's Sense of Snow through interlibrary loan and I'm very excited to read it. I loved Hoeg's The Quiet Girl. :)
DeleteGreat list! I need to check out some of these books. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read them all yet myself.
DeleteI love reading Scandinavian mysteries during winter!
ReplyDeleteAren't they great?
