Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's theme is Characters I'd Like to Switch Places With. Which was a little tricky because there are a lot of characters who I really like but whose lives I really don't want to live. Not even for a little while. So after much thought, here's my....

7 Fictional characters I wouldn't mind switching places with:

Dorothy Gale .... 'cause she has great adventures and she lives in Oz where animals talk and books grow on trees.

Harimad-sol (Harry Crewe) ... 'cause she gets a cool horse, a legendary sword...and a great guy, too.

Lessa of Pern ...  'cause she has a dragon!!!

Daphne ....  'cause this version of Daphne totally kicks ass.

Thursday Next ... 'cause being a Special Operative in literary detection sounds like a much better job than mine!

Nancy Drew ... 'cause she's always so fearless and capable no matter the situation; I mean, how would that be?

Wonder Woman .... 'cause Hello! She's Wonder Woman. Who wouldn't want to be her?

Happy Reading!

  1. Definitely Nancy Drew and Wonder Woman for me. I love ND books when I was younger; I think she's very much my first heroine. :)

    1. Nancy Drew is the best. I sometimes wish I still had my favorite ND mysteries still sitting on my shelf. :)

    1. Just think if you could combine the best traits from all three into one amazing character...you'd be unbeatable. :D

  4. I'm afraid I might not be a good Wonder Woman, but I love to watch her! I'd pick Thursday Next to trade with - those were such interesting books.

  5. Interesting--because there are so many characters that we love, but would never want to lead their lives! I'm kinda liking Nancy Drew.

    1. She's always so together. And she always figures things out. I'd like to be more like that. :)

  6. Aww, Wonder Woman is a favorite of mine. I'd switch places with Dorothy as well, because Oz is my favorite bookish world ever.

  7. Ooh Daphne DOES kick ass, I'm loving Scoob Apoc right now! And that Pern cover is so cool, it has that dreamy look to it. Very nice. Nancy drew as well- I have such nostalgia for those old covers... :)

    1. I don't read a lot of graphic novels, but I really liked Scooby Apocalypse. And Daphne is a large reason why. (Scooby is the other reason.) :D

  11. Great list of some strong female literary characters! Love it.

I had no idea there was a Scooby graphic novel series! It makes me happy if only because the characters get to wear different outfits. That always bugged me as a kid!

  12. Oh. Thursday Next. I forgot about her. I read the Eyre Affair years ago and then I read a sequel to the series. But when I tired reading another series a few years later I found I couldn't remember enough of the details to stay interested. Drats. I wish I'd b=read them closer together. Did you read all the books in the series?

    1. I didn't. I only read the first three...and then like you, I moved on to other books and kind of forgot about them. But I liked her. :)

  13. With the books I read I wouldn't want to swap places with anyone! I get too stressed out when things go wrong so I'd be a useless MC!
