Oooooh, The Paleontologist sounds rather good!
ReplyDeleteI checked it out because I'm a sucker for books with dinosaurs in them...even dinosaur bones. :D
DeleteI really need to try and do some reviews like this, LOL! I think it would be just as hard as writing a more in-depth review, but maybe it would be helpful for those reviews where I get stuck, LOL!
ReplyDeleteHaikus are a great way to review a book when you don't want to write something long or in-depth...or when you get stuck. I think you should give them a try! :D
DeleteI will try to remember next time I am stuck, LOL!
DeleteOr when you're feeling a little lazy and don't want to write an entire review...like me. ;D
DeleteThe Paleontologist sounds so good! Love the haikus, too, lol.
ReplyDeleteThank you! And The Paleontologist was different and fun.
DeleteI always look forward to your haiku reviews, Lark. Charm City Rocks sounds really good. And you know I love a good K-9 story, so That Others May Live really appeals to me. :)
ReplyDeleteYou'd really like Sara Driscoll's K9 books. They're so good. And I loved Charm City Rocks. :D
DeleteI saw The Paleontologist at the library recently, but didn't pick it up. Will have to try it if I see it again. Love these reviews!
ReplyDeleteThank you. And The Paleontologist is fun...but there's a lot about dinosaurs and fossils in it, so be prepared for some science along with the mystery.
DeleteLove these haiku reviews :) The Paleontologist sounds terrific - definitely checking it out. Thank you, Lark! Hope you have a wonderful weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nadia! I hope you have a good weekend, too. :D
DeleteI do like dinosaurs, so The Paleontologist might be something I'd like. I would like to read that Sara Driscoll series at some point. Wonderful reviews, Lark! :)
ReplyDeleteI love Driscoll's series. The characters and the dogs are just so great. :D
DeleteHow cute. I'm still waiting for the day where you write a Haiku about a book I read.
ReplyDeleteI hope that happens someday, too. :D
DeleteI really love the sound of The Paleontologist, but I've heard very mixed reviews of it so far.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it wasn't a complete win for me, but there was a lot I liked about it, which is why I rounded up from a 3-star read to 3.5. But if you're looking for a more thrilling supernatural horror vibe, it doesn't really have that. Still, I liked the creepy museum and the dinosaur fossil/science parts.
DeleteMarianne, beat me to it. lol Nicely done, as usual.
ReplyDeleteOne day, Sam, one day.
DeleteHey now, I wrote a haiku review of Razorblade Tears a couple of years ago, and I know you read that book, Sam. ;D
DeleteCharm City Rocks sounds cute!
ReplyDeleteIt is cute...and low on angst, which I appreciated.
DeleteFun as always! Charm City Rocks would be my choice.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot to like about that one. :D
DeleteCharm City Rocks looks so cute and That Others May Live looks like a good read. I can't resist a working dog book.
ReplyDeleteI can't either! And Sara Driscoll's series is SO good. I love it.
DeleteI want to try the Sara Driscoll series. I do love K-9 mysteries. Charm City Rocks sounds really good too. The Paleontologist sounds interesting. The idea of a haunted museum sounds fun! Not sure about dinosaurs though. LOL
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of dinosaur info. in the Paleontologist, which I didn't mind, but could definitely bore other people. And I loved both Charm City Rocks and That Others MIght Live.
DeleteThat is a good mix: one romance (with a great cover), a mystery with dogs, and a haunted museum.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun mix of books to read, too. :D
DeleteBoth K9 units and paleontology interest me -- so these look like winners.
ReplyDeleteThe Sara Driscoll series is a really good one! I love how the dogs always play such an important role in each book.
