This week's theme: BOOKISH SUPERPOWERS I WISH I HAD.
I came up with five:
1. I wish I had the ability to remember all the pertinent plot points and characters from all the books I've read...or at least all the ones I really liked.
2. I wish I was able to conjure up any book I wanted to read the moment I wanted to read it...without having to wait for my library hold to come in, or my Amazon order to be delivered.
3. I'd love to be able to stop time and the rest of the world whenever I wanted so I could give myself an extra hour or two just for reading.
4. I'd like to be able to enter the pages of any book and spend some time with my favorite characters, or go exploring a favorite setting...especially a magical world like Oz or Le Cirques des Reves.
5. And the last bookish superpower I'd love to have is the ability to change a book's ending when it's disappointing and make it better. Because I hate when an otherwise great story ends wrong. (Yes, Mockingjay, I'm talking about books like you!)
What bookish superpowers would you love to have?
Happy Reading!
Those are some great superpower wishes, Lark. I'd love to have them too - maybe at times especially #5. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI can think of several books where I'd really love to change the ending!
DeleteI reiterate all you say, especially No 2.
ReplyDeletewouldn't that be great? I'd love to have the book I want to read in my hands the moment I want to read it. :D
DeleteI love all your bookish superpowers! I definitely want to have them, especially #2, lol.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have that one, too. :D
DeleteI wish I could remember all of the plot points in books, too!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
Lydia
Especially when you're trying to remember what happened in the last book in a series before reading the next book!
DeleteDon't we all wish we had such superpowers, especially being able to clearly remember all plot points.
ReplyDeleteI used to be so much better at that, but these days I barely remember what book I just finished reading. ;D
DeleteI drew an absolute blank with this prompt and decided to skip it. You have some really good ones. I especially love #3. Stopping time to allow for some reading... yes please!
ReplyDeleteI think that's the one I'd like to have the most! (Especially when I have five library books due and only five days to read them all.)
DeleteI would love to have all those superpowers, or even just one of them! #4 would be fun.
ReplyDeleteThere are SO many bookish worlds I'd love to be able to visit, from Pemberley to Narnia. :D
DeleteThese are some awesome bookish superpowers. I'd love to have them all, especially #1. When I start book two (or three) in a series, I have the hardest time remembering what happened in the previous book. :)
ReplyDeleteI do, too! And sometimes (usually) I don't have time to start over with the first book to help me remember.
Delete#1 is something I wish I had too. I forget too easily.
ReplyDeleteMe, too!
Delete#1 and #2 are ones I would like as well. I don't remember stuff from books easily, and I would love to have books I want to read in my hands faster ;)
ReplyDeleteBoth would be so great.
DeleteOh, yes! I'd love to change a few endings or get the book I want to read right now! All great powers to have!
ReplyDeleteIf only wishing made it so. ;D
DeleteThis is a great list! I wish I never had to wait for a hold either and it would just appear when I was ready!!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be so great? :D
DeleteYour first point is the one I most empathise with!
ReplyDeleteI read so many books that I also tend to forget a lot of them, too. It's one of the reasons I decided to start blogging...I hoped it would help me remember plots and story lines better. Only I don't ever review all the books I read so... ;D
DeleteI'd like the power to add 100 pages to a book that isn't long enough or doesn't seem complete, to be able to conjure up new books by some favorite authors, and for books I want to read to always be available by InterLibraryLoan!
ReplyDeleteThose would be very great superpowers to have!
DeleteHi Lark, those are good superpowers and I think it would be great to have the power of magically creating books that we've always wanted to read but no one seems to have written yet. I am thinking we all have those books in our heads. Plotlines or scenarios where we think that would make a really good story and suddenly the novel would appear.
ReplyDeleteOoh...I'd like that power! I for sure I have stories and plots in my head that I'd love to read in a novel. Only I never seem to get around to writing any of them down. ;D
DeleteSuperb superpowers! All of the superpowers you listed would be awesome to have.
ReplyDelete#3 is the one I'd like to have the most...especially when life interferes with my reading time. ;D
DeleteGreat ones.

Thanks, Regine!
DeleteBeing able to remember characters and plot points would make reading series a lot more appealing. I don't want to reread all the old books before a new one comes out!
ReplyDeleteMe either! For one, I don't have the time. And it would be so great if Icould just remember what happened in the books that came before. ;D
DeleteLove these. Being able to spent time with a favorite character would be amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be able to do that! There are so many great books I could happily spend days or weeks inside. :D
DeleteGreat choices. Sounds like you might have the makings of a good novel there. I'd buy it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sam! :D
DeleteOoh, very good list. The one I would add would be the ability to read a favorite all over again "for the first time" :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one. :D
DeleteBeing able to spend time with the characters would be fun, especially the vampires. I might never leave. lol
ReplyDelete:D books are often more appealing than real life.
DeleteYeah I don't like when a novel takes a turn in the plot, or a bad ending, where you wish it hadn't. So #5 is the best power of all!
ReplyDeleteI could fix many books with that power! ;D
Delete1, 3, and 4 are all in line with items on my wishlist of superpowers too! I have a hunch that there are lots of folks who'd appreciate being able to remember every single detail of every single book!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be nice? Especially in a trilogy or series! I hate when a new book comes out and I can't remember what happened in the first book. It's very frustrating. ;D
DeleteOh these are all great superpowers and I would especially love #1 and #3. #3 would be ultimate best thing I think!
ReplyDelete#3 is the one I'd love to have the most! Just to pause life for a moment so I could have more time to read...that would be heaven. :D
DeleteI found myself nodding in agreement with all your superpower wishes. Especially #1 and #3.
ReplyDeleteThose are the ones I need/want the most. :D
Delete#1 so much! I envy people who can remember every little detail about every book they've read while I struggle to remember the name of the MC of my current read.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I can't even remember the title! ;D
DeleteI especially like #1 on your list. I guess that's what we get for reading so much, there isn't enough room in our brains. And, for me, it is also related to getting older.
ReplyDeleteGetting older and reading too many books...sometimes the plots all blur together. ;D It would be really nice to remember them all, especially in series!
DeleteThese are all fabulous choices. Wouldn't it be neat to have these powers. Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog last week.
ReplyDeleteI would especially love to have #3...then maybe I could actually read all the books I want to read. :D
DeleteOh, changing the ending is a good one I didn't think of!
ReplyDeleteSome books really need a different and better ending! ;D
