This & That...

Basic bookish arithmetic:  one book goes out, five new ones come in. No wonder the space on my shelves doesn't add up.

Book Nook Envy:

I could happily curl up here with a good book!
And I have a stack to choose from because I just
got back from the library with this bookish haul:

A School For Unusual Girls by Kathleen Baldwin
A Merciful Death by Kendra Elliot
Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik
Leave No Trace by Mindy Meija
The Girl From the Savoy by Hazel Gaynor
Sprig Muslin by Georgette Heyer

Two bookish necklaces I'd love to own:

(Because how do you choose between them?)

Random Quote:

"Reading is the key to enriching one's life.
Besides information, it is about fantasy, imagination,
imagery, magic and intellectual and emotional stimulation.
It opens doors and leads you places
you never knew existed."
--Jonas Kage

Just for fun:

Gotta love John Atkinson!

Happy Reading!

  1. Love this post! Of course there's always more books, not lesser books, right? :D

The two necklaces look lovely, but I'm leaning more towards the first one. :)

  2. Wonderful library haul. I really like the description for Canterbury Tales and 1984. Both are pretty fitting!

  5. Great post :-) I think I'd pick the second necklace! The abridged classics are hilarious - thanks for the laugh! Oh, and of course: happy reading! On a sidenote, 'Sprig Muslin' was the first Heyer I ever read (many, many moons ago... in the early 80s!), and I was hooked rightaway.

    1. So glad to hear you liked Sprig Muslin. I've been working my way through Heyer's books, but sometimes it's hard to choose which to read next because she wrote so many. :)

  10. That book nook looks so cozy! I especially love the size of the chair. Perfect for sitting cross-legged as I often do.

I have an illustration of the Alcott quote on my wall in my "library" aka the room where the majority of my books are. I love it!

  11. I love that book nook! I'll admit, a major seller on the house I just moved too is that is has a book nook. The previous owners also loved to read and had book shelves everywhere.

  18. I must admit I've been better this year about not buying in tons of books, mainly just keeping up with series I'm invested in. My tbr at least will have a chance to reduce this year!
