Two books I recently read and loved...

Here are two more of my favorite reads this past month that I'm not going to review, but am going to recommend. (With thanks again to Rachel @ Waves of Fiction for the idea.)

Prodigal Son is Gregg Hurwitz's latest Orphan X novel. It's the 6th book in this series, which makes it tricky to review without accidentally spoiling things that happen in previous books. Just know that Evan Smoak is one of my all-time favorite characters, and I absolutely LOVE this series. All six books. They're awesome. My review of his first three books can be found here and here.

The Breaker is the latest book in Nick Petrie's Peter Ash Series. It is also book #6. I love this series, and this character, too. Every time I finish one, I can't wait for the next one to come out. If you want to read my review of the first book in this series, check it out here.

So there you go, two more books I loved and highly recommend.
Happy Reading!

  2. I never heard of these so glad you blogged about them. There are so many series I would like to begin - Anne Cleeves being one of them after reading a recent book of her but, then I get distracted by other books calling my name and it never seems to happen. Sometimes I wish we didn't have so much to choose from LOL

    1. I have a list of series I'd like to start, but that thing you said about other books 'distracting and calling your name'? That happens to me all the time! But having too many books to read is a nice problem to have. :D

    1. There's a lot to like about Peter! He's not quite as impressive as Evan Smoak, but he's a close second. :D

  4. I don't remember hearing you talk about the Petrie series. I'm going to have to take a closer look at it.

  5. Both series are new to me, so thanks for the heads-up. I'll be sure to take a look at them.

Sometimes a book is nearly impossible to review without inadvertently spoiling it for others. I've been there...those are absolutely the hardest ones to write.

    1. Yeah...I couldn't even begin to talk about these two books without bringing up stuff from previous novels...so I didn't even try. I settled for doing this post instead. :)

  13. I'm ashamed to say I've not even heard of these series, but they look thrilling. And I'm guessing if they are a series, then there's been some "happy" ending for our heroes in the books so far. :)

    1. Both Evan and Peter are hanging in there...though the end of Prodigal Son was a big of an explosive cliffhanger. :)
