I had a lot of fun this year visiting all of your blogs, reading your reviews, doing buddy reads with Bettina and Melody, and talking books with everyone. Hope to see you all next year!
And Happy Reading!
Yes! 2018 was a great year for me. I got married and had a baby. I also revamped my blog in February, so lots has happened. But I'm eager for 2019 to arrive so I can see what happens then. Maybe it'll be just as good a year!
ReplyDeleteYou had an awesome 2018! Congrats on your marriage AND your new baby. I don't know how 2019 can possibly top that, but I hope it's at least just as good a year for you. :D
DeleteThanks for sharing your favourites list, Lark! I still need to post mine; I'm procrastinating, I've to admit, lol. And thank you for those buddy reads. I'm definitely looking forward for more and I hope 2019 will be a better reading year for all of us. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melody! I can't wait to see what books you picked as your favorites this year. :)
DeleteMy book club read A Gentleman in Moscow, but I never got around to it. I've heard it is slow, but good.
ReplyDeleteI loved the main character so much I was just happy to spend time with him, so the book never felt slow to me. :)
DeleteIt is difficult to choose favorites! Now I have more books to check out from your list. :)
ReplyDeleteWhenever people ask me what my favorite book is I never know what to say. I love too many of them to just have one favorite. :)
DeleteA Gentleman in Moscow is a great book. I read it last year and really enjoyed it. I'm envious that you got to read Death on the Nile while actually on the Nile! Happy reading in 2019. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Helen! Same to you. :)
DeleteNice wrap up! I really need to read A Gentleman in Moscow—so many people whose taste aligns with mine really love it. Congrats on bird #192. I am considering doing a Colorado Big Year. Happy reading and happy birding in 2019.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jane! A Colorado Big Year in birding sounds like a lot of fun. :D
DeleteOh that would be so cool reading Death on the Nile while ON the Nile! How fun. And yay for favorite books! I read a lot of suspense in 2018 and loved it, and in '19 I'm hoping to read more urban fantasy.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I love urban fantasy and suspense books, too. I'm hoping to branch out this year and read a little more science fiction and historical fiction. And reading Death on the Nile while on the Nile was so cool! One of my best bookish days yet. :)
DeleteA gentleman in Moscow also ended up in my top-10! I loved that book. I hope we will do another bookread together in de new year!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how reading Murder on the Nile, while being on the Nile was an absolute hightlight!!
I wish you an amazing bookyear for 2019!!

DeleteBenedict Jacka's books are one of many series that I need to catch up with as I loved the first book!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading #7 (Burned) and loving it so far. Jacka has a new book coming out this summer and I want to have read the rest of his series by then. (Fingers crossed!)
DeleteHi Lark, Thanks for posting a list of your favorite books from 2018. I must start reading Benedict Jacka since his books sounds like a really good urban fantasy series. But before that I will check out A Gentleman in Moscow. If you chose it as your top book for 2018, that's all the incentive I need to give the book a try.
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful book. I didn't want it to end. Mostly because I loved the main character so much. I hope you get a chance to read it in 2019. Happy New Year!
DeleteA wonderful list! A Gentleman in Moscow will be on mine as well.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year a little early! May it bring us good books, and time to read them :)
Thanks, Lisa! I second your wishes of time and good books ...and good friends, too. :)
DeleteVery nice, Lark. I've enjoyed reading your blog this year and hearing about what you've been reading. I have A Gentleman in Moscow and hope to read it in 2019 and I think reading the Christie book while actually on the Nile sounds brilliant. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kay! Your kind comments mean a lot. I hope you enjoy A Gentleman in Moscow. :D
