ReplyDeleteIt's really good...but really heartbreaking, too! There were moments where it made me cry.
DeleteThe Book Collectors sounds good. We all hope that books can be comfort and sustenance.
ReplyDeleteAnd this book really showed that when the rest of your world is falling apart and life isn't going well, books and the messages they carry become even more important. Books and the friendships these young men developed with each other is what helped sustain them through all the madness and sorrow.
DeleteI've also been curious about The Book Collectors, which sounds pretty fascinating--though also terrifying.
ReplyDeleteIt's just heartbreaking what happened to this community... and the rest of the world just let it happen. It made me sad.
DeleteI do love your haiku reviews and all of these books sound good.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have fun writing them.

ReplyDeleteThe Book Collectors is a book I think everyone should read, just to make them aware that there are other countries in the world that aren't free, and that there are people in the world struggling and dying for a taste of the freedoms we enjoy here.
DeleteThat was fun. Her Silent Cry sounds good to me.
