It's the first day of a new year ... a year that feels full of possibilities. What am I hoping for? Mostly little things. Like increasing my bird list to 150 species of birds (it currently stands at 139), and hopefully spotting my very first owl. I'd love another stamp in my passport (or maybe just a week spent at a beach instead). My friend is talking about starting a book club, which could be fun. I'm definitely planning on doing some more hiking this summer, and I'm determined to try something new (and hopefully fun) each and every month. I have a few bookish goals, too:
Read wide.
Read new.
Reread.
Complete a reading challenge, or two.
Get my TBR pile below 20.
And, most importantly, Have Fun!
What are your bookish goals for 2015?
Good luck with ALL your endeavors,
and have a Happy New Year!
P.S. I turned in my last three library books yesterday...I've officially put the library on hold and plan to read from my own bookshelves the entire month of January.
Happy Reading!
All the best for 2015, with loads of amazing books, (from your own bookshelves or not) and I hope you can accomplish all your goals!
ReplyDeleteKind regards,
Thanks, Bettina! I hope you have a fun year of reading (and other awesome things) planned as well. Happy New Year!
DeleteAll your goals sound great. Another stamp in my passport, hm...it's been a while since I got one of those! I might have to settle for reading more books from around the world.
ReplyDeleteBookish travel is one of my favorite things.
DeleteHow goes your first library free day? I've already got a stack of books I want to reread, not to mention the TBR pile. :-) I'm so glad you thought of this! What a great way to start off the new year.
I'm making a start on two of the books from my list (Alias Hook and How To Be a Heroine), so it's going well! Rereads are also going to be high on the agenda.
DeleteHappy new year! Good luck with all your challenges :) My goal is to complete all of mine, I've got loads I've signed up for!
ReplyDeleteI'm not brave enough to sign up for more than one or two challenges...having too many would stress me out. But I definitely wish you luck with all of yours! I can't wait to see how you do on them. :)
DeleteThose are great bookish goals! I really want to have my TBR stacks to 20-25 books, and I am going to try very, very hard to make a serious dent in them this year. But having fun is the most important thing, in reading. Happy New Year, and good luck with the library challenge.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I hope you have success this year in getting your TBR pile down ... and that you have fun doing it. Because if you're not having fun reading, then what's the point? :-)
DeleteYour goals sound great! Good luck with them, and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteGemma
Thank you so much. I wish you luck with all of your 2015 goals. I hope it's an awesome year for you!
DeleteI am joining you in January in reading off my own shelves. So many books waiting there! I haven't fully defined my other reading goals for the year, but will probably do a reading Bingo again. Other goals for me include running a race, hiking, getting my house in order (literally), completing a languishing cross stitch project, etc. I love your goal to try something new every month--what a great idea! Good luck to you, and here's to a great 2015.
ReplyDeleteYay...another reader reading from your own shelves in January. Welcome to the party. :) And I think it's always good to finish up old projects; and hopefully this summer will be a fun one of running and hiking for you. All the best!
DeleteLove your reading goals, and really like the “one new thing a month” idea! I hope it’s ok if I share this goal with you for me? (I like it that much!) Here’s to a fabulous and happy new year!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! But only if you promise to tell me your favorite new things in case I want to try them, too. :) Thanks for the best wishes. I hope you have a fabulous 2015, too!
DeleteI love your bookish goals, especially the first three. I want to make time for reading books I already own this year and rereading those I already love.
ReplyDeleteI hope your book club works out, they are so much fun and they really help with the reading wide too :)
Thanks! I'm hopeful about the book club, too...but you never know if other people read like you do.
DeleteYour goals are inspiring! I love the freshness of "Read wide. Read new." It looks like a great year ahead --
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm really looking forward to it...and to just having some fun.
