October's Bookish Art...

Rose Mead -- Molly Reading, 1920

"...we gravitate toward the stories we need in life. Whatever we are longing for--adventure, excitement, emotion, connection--we turn to stories that help us find it. Whatever questions we're struggling with--sometimes questions so deep, we don't even really know we're asking them--we look for answers in stories."          --Katherine Center, The Rom-Commers

  3. Once again, you have an image and quote that really resonate with me. I love stories--I love to read them, hear them, invent them, internalize them. Stories help me make sense of the world and my place in it.

  4. I think the quote is often true. And the painting is alluring in a quiet way.

  7. That is a nice quote, and it hits the spot for me, because my reading has changed so much in the last year (or so). I still read a lot of mysteries (and espionage stories) but so much more general fiction than before, and lighter more optimistic fiction. I think I need that in my life right now.

  8. I do agree with this one. It is amazing the way books can deliver what we need, sometimes without us even knowing it was what we needed before reading it.
