Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's theme: 10 BOOKS I'D LIKE TO REREAD.
Which sent me on a journey perusing my bookshelves to find some favorite books that I would really love to reread this year:
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
The Time of the Twins by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
A Separate Peace by John Knowles
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
The Voyage Out by Virginia Woolf
Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson
Precinct 13 by Tate Hallaway
Wreckers by George Ellis
The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander
Little Town on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder
The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells
Do you like to reread favorite books? If so, which ones?
Happy Reading!
I would like to reread Sense and Sensibility too. I love rereading but don't do enough of it!
ReplyDeleteI don't do enough of it either! All those pesky brand new books get in the way. ;D
DeleteI'm re-reading all of Jane Austen's books again this year and have done S&S already. And I have read all the Little House books, so lovely.
ReplyDeleteBut I have never heard of most of the other authors, except for Virginia Woolf and Julia Donaldson, of course.
Here is my list:

Sense and Sensibility is the Jane Austen book I've read the least, which is why I want to reread it this year. :D
DeleteThat would be Northanger Abbey for me, because it is my least favourite. I think that comes after Emma which I am reading right now.
DeleteBut yeah, Sense & Sensibility is a great novel. Enjoy.
I am loving the Murderbot tv series and plan to read it after I’ve seen the last episode of season 1.
ReplyDeleteI was not a big fan of A Separate Peace when I read it in high school, but I’d be curious to see if my opinion of it changes if I read it as an adult!
The Murderbot books are great! I love them. And I remember liking A Separate Peace in high school, but not too much else about it. Which is why I wouldn't mind reading it again.
DeleteI love S&S--great choice. And Little Town on the Prairie is actually my favorite LIW novel. I reread A Separate Peace a few years ago, and it was very satisfying to reread a favorite from high school.
ReplyDeleteI actually did Top Ten myself this week. As a rereader, it was super easy though hard to winnow done the list to ten.
That's always the hard thing for me...winnowing any reading list down to just 10 books. And I love the Laura Ingalls Wilder books, especially The Long Winter, Little Town on the Prairie and Happy Golden Years. Those are the three I've reread the most. But I haven't read any of them in awhile. Maybe this summer. :D
DeleteAfter Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility is my favorite Jane Austen book.
ReplyDeleteI read A Separate Peace decades ago in high school and then reread it a few years ago. I found it powerful the first time and just as powerful when I reread it. What I missed in the first time is how the shadow of WW Ii hangs over the boy's prep school because it's 1942 and these boys are going into their senior year and will be enlisting right after high school.
I've only read Sense & Sensibility once, which is why I want to reread it this year. And I haven't read A Separate Peace since high school. Back then I focused on the characters; I'd love to read it again and see what else I find in it now. You make such a good point about the time period; that never really occurred to me when I first read it either.
DeleteI used to reread books that I loved. No more! There are too many books that I haven't yet read that are on my "to be read" list and I have to get to them.
ReplyDeleteI totally get that! It's why I don't reread as much as I used to either. But every once in awhile I get a yen to dive back into a favorite book and I'm trying to allow myself room in my reading to do that. :D
DeleteI'm starting a read-along for the Murderbot Diaries tomorrow! I hope you get to all on your re-read list! :)
ReplyDeleteI probably won't...I never do...but I keep trying. ;D
DeleteEdenbrooke is so swoony! My TTT
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about rereading Murderbot too, as I'm watching the series. Jane Austen is always worth re-reading. I've got Persuasion on my list.
ReplyDeleteGreat choices, Lark!! I need to continue reading the The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells as I've only read the first book in the. series. I'm currently watching the Murderbot series on Apple TV+ with my husband and we're loving it.
ReplyDeleteI want to read more of Jane Austen. I'm currently reading a trilogy inspired by Pride & Prejudice from Mr. Darcy's pov.
I can't believe I'm admitting this, but I've never read any of Jane Austen's books. I've tried reading Pride & Prejudice three times, but I just can't get past the first couple of chapters. I don't know what's wrong with me. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't read Edenbrooke! I checked it out of the library in May or June, but then decided to focus on my own books, so sent it back. I have checked it out 2 or 3 times, maybe next time will be when I actually read it!
ReplyDeleteI re-read The Murderbot Diaries at the beginning of the year and it was such a good time!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy reading these when you get the chance.
