Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
Two sisters deal with
heartache in different ways.
Find love in the end.
Classic .... 353 pages .... 4/5 stars.
(My 2025 Jane Austen reread to celebrate her 250th birthday this year; it's not my favorite Austen novel, but I liked it more this time around than I did the first time I read it. Though I still love the Emma Thompson movie version best.)
Fly Girl by Ann Hood
The reality and
adventure of being a
flight attendant for TWA.
Biography .... 265 pages .... 3.5/5 stars.
(Remember when flying used to be a more glamorous way of traveling? Ann Hood does in this interesting memoir.)
Star-Crossed Crush by Sarah Deeham
Hot rock star. Cute dog.
Best friend's little sister.
Secret crush. True love.
Contemporary Romance .... 335 pages .... 4.5/5 stars.
(Slowburn romance with lots of heart, humor, and only a few steamy scenes...it also has a very cute Corgi name Archie.)
Happy Reading!
Sense and Sensibility is probably the Austen novel I liked least, but I do want to reread it one day. Great haikus as usual!
ReplyDelete:D Thanks. I was pleasantly surprised how much more I liked Sense and Sensibility this time around. So it was a good reread.
DeleteFLY GIRL definitely sounds interesting. I always like behind-the-scenes books like this. I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI love behind-the-scenes books, too. Especially with jobs I'd never do myself. ;D
DeleteEmma Thompson's "Sense and Sensibility" was a classic! I could watch it again and again.
ReplyDeleteMe, too! It's one I don't ever get tired of. :D
DeleteI always look forward to your haiku reviews, Lark! I still need to read Sense and Sensibility, but I love the Emma Thompson movie. :D
ReplyDeleteShe did a great job. It's my favorite version of the book.
DeleteThe movie version with Emma Thompson was pretty great, wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt really was! :D
