Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's theme is BOOKS WITH OCCUPATIONS IN THE TITLE.
I tried to find 10 books that I've read with 10 different occupations in the title...here's what I came up with:
- The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
- The Archivist by Martha Cooley
- The Geographer's Library by Jon Fasman
- The Librarian of Auschwitz by Antonio Iturbe
- The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry
- The Egyptologist by Arthur Phillips
- The Matchmaker by Rexanne Becnel
- The Teacher by Frieda McFadden
- Eddy Johnson, Book Dealer by John Wiley
- As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust by Alan Bradley
- Stardoc by S.L. Viehl
- The Cinderella Governess by Georgie Lee
I know...I listed 12 books, not 10. But I couldn't decide which 2 to not include, so I just decided to include them all. Because I enjoyed reading them all. And I liked that every occupation in each of these books is so unique.
Happy Reading!
What a creative list! I love it! I hope you’re having a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. It's been good so far. :D
DeleteA lace reader sounds like a very niche occupation.
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my own post

I just like the sound of being a lace reader. Though I expect it wouldn't pay much. ;D Thanks for commenting!
DeleteJust perused one of my shelves and found "The Exhibitionist." Didn't love the book when I read it, but it fits the bill!
ReplyDeleteThe Exhibitionist would totally go with this list! It's a great title, even if you didn't love the book.
DeleteWhat an interesting list you have. The only one of those that I've read is the first one on the list and, as I recall, I quite enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI loved The Historian. But then, I also really love Dracula.
DeleteOh, this is fun. Now I wonder what books I've read with occupations in the title.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to see how many occupations I could come up with just perusing my shelves and Read list. :D
DeleteI love your list!! I still want to read The Historian and have noticed it on other TTT posts!!
ReplyDeleteThe Historian is one of my favs. :D
DeleteWhat a great list.

Thanks, Regine. :D
DeleteThanks for the list.
ReplyDelete:D I had fun putting it together. And it was really easy, which was a bonus.
DeleteYou did great with this prompt! I looked at it and thought I'd have to do some digging and didn't have the time. I read and loved The Historian years ago! Great list, Lark! :)
ReplyDeleteI loved The Historian, too. And this was one of the easier TTTs for me for some reason. (If they're not easy I tend not to do them either.)
DeleteYou did great, you have so many unique ones! I would have had a hard time narrowing it down as well :)
ReplyDeleteStory of my life...I always seem to have too many books. ;D
DeleteThat's a great list! Sometimes it's difficult to stick to 10. I enjoyed The Historian and As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust.
ReplyDeleteBoth very good reads!
DeleteGreat list, Lark. You have some original occupations on your list, Chimney Sweeper, Book Dealer, Egyptologist and Lace Reader. I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteThose last three you mention are three of my favorites. They're all so different, but oh so memorable. :D
DeleteThis is such a fun topic! I read The Historian years ago and loved it. :D
ReplyDeleteI could totally read that book again it was so good.
DeleteWhat a fun mix of occupations. Lace reader and chimney sweep are not ones I've seen elsewhere!
ReplyDeleteI loved The Lace Reader. Talk about a twist!
DeleteAwesome list, Lark! Some interesting occupations. Thanks for sharing.

:D Thanks.
DeleteSome great jobs there, I think the only one we have in common is teacher. I have also read The Historian but I had so many books on my list that I had to cut some down in the end.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my list:

It's always hard to cut lists of books down to just 10. At least, it always is for me. ;D
DeleteSame here. I always had the problem with writing, I would always write three times as much as require. I wouldn't call myself a messy but I'm certainly not a minimalist. ;)
DeleteGreat list!! I love how you used color!! <3 It made for a very vibrant post. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. I wanted to try and highlight each of the occupations so they were easy to spot.
DeleteI haven't sen Egyptologist mentioned this week. That's a fun one!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
That book made me laugh. It's just so quirky and unexpected.
DeleteThis is a great list. I had not heard of Stardoc and that book sounds good. I will look for a copy.
ReplyDeleteStardoc was a fun science fiction read.
DeleteOf these, I've read The Historian which is a pretty incredible book ... and long too! I should reread that -- it's been a while.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about rereading The Historian, too. I really liked it the first time I read it, but it's been awhile.
DeleteChimney Sweepers, very cool. I love that you included The Egyptologist too😁
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favorite books. :D
DeleteOh great job! This was such a tough prompt but you found a lot of books that look really good.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great list of occupations! I haven't read any of those, but a few are on my radar, at least.
