10 Things I think we need more of in the world:
- Kindness
- Forgiveness
- Faith
- Positivity & Hope
- Dialogue
- Civility
- Integrity
- Understanding & Empathy
Because what we put out into the world is what we get back. Negative words only lead to more negativity. Hate only begets more hate. And that makes the world a very dark and violent place. But the opposite is also true. Kindness, civility, gratitude, and love can fill the world with light and peace. And who doesn't want that?
If ONLY we lived in such a world! Here's hoping that we can improve it - one good decision and one good act at a time..
ReplyDeleteIf every person did one good act think of the ripple effect and how amazing it could be. One person can change the world.
DeleteLast night's happiness class session was about kindness. We all talked about ways that kindness has been contagious in our own lives.
ReplyDeleteKindness is so key. And it costs so little. I have a friend who once said she never regretted being too kind. I try to remember that in my own life.
DeleteKindness Mindfulness Tolerance needed in big doses now.
ReplyDeleteYes! From all of us.
DeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteIt was a rough weekend for members of our faith, wasn't it? I've been inspired, though, by seeing how kind and forgiving people are being even in the wake of such a horrifying act of hate and violence. There's still good out there, and all of us can be better about being kinder, more inclusive, more forgiving, more tolerant, etc. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteThere is still good out there. And I think it's so important that that's what we're putting out into the world ourselves. Forgiveness and charity are so key.
DeleteSuch a thoughtful list. I especially agree about kindness and empathy, those two alone could change so much if we practiced them more often. Thank you for the reminder to choose light over darkness.
ReplyDeleteWe all have that choice, don't we? And a little more kindness and empathy could change everything.
DeleteWise words.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThis is the best list I have seen for ages. If only everyone tried to follow at least one of those points.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to have met you and some others in the blogging world because so many here are all of that.
Thank you, Marianne! I'm so grateful for all of my blogging friends. You all bring a little more light into my life. :D
DeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ethan.
DeleteI think this was a great post, Lark. So, so many things to think about. Keeping you and all the members of your faith in my prayers. You are a dear, dear person.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your prayers! They are very much appreciated. It's been a challenging week, that's for sure. I'm very grateful for blogging friends like you. :D
DeleteYes, more of all of those things would be good for everyone.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's really not that hard to just be a little kind and tolerant and forgiving.
DeleteHear, hear. I thought of you when I saw the news, such a senseless act of hate. Sending hugs.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I really appreciate that. It's been a tough week, but I'm grateful for your friendship and hugs. It really means a lot. :D
