I read a lot of good books this year in many different genres, so many there's no way I could list them all in one post. So I decided to narrow my list to just the top ten instead. Which was still hard. Because how do you choose one book over another when they're both really good? But I did my best. Here they are...my Top Ten Reads of 2019 (Drum roll, please!):
(I loved this entire series!)
(AND the two books that follow it!)
What were your favorite reads this year?
Here's hoping for even more great reads in 2020!
Happy New Year...and Happy Reading!
Great list, Lark! With the holidays and not to mention my procrastination, I haven't even look at my list yet but I'll be doing my top ten reads soon, I hope. ;p Happy New Year and here's hoping for more great buddy reads next year!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melody! I'm looking forward to more of our buddy reads next year, too. :D
DeleteI LOVED When the power has gone-such a great series! I love this time of the year when I get to do lists and surveys and stuff! Happy New Year to you too!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :D I'm looking forward to some time off this week, and to reading more in Glaspy's series.
DeleteI love this list! And I haven't read any of them - as yet. Think many of them might find their way onto my list, Lark. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGlad to add to your TBR list! ;D
DeleteYou pick good ones. Blessings friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteHappy New Year! I love how you read so widely across all genres. I too would have trouble picking just one or even ten. I like how you sneakily include other books in a series!
ReplyDelete:D You caught that, did you?
DeleteSuch a great list! Quite a few of these are on my TBR list. I had a terrible time trying to narrow down my favorites for this year. I think I finally got it down to my top 14, lol. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard, isn't it? There were several books I left off this list that were favorite reads this year. But I had to cut the list off somewhere. :D
DeleteYou've had a great year of reading! I haven't read any of those books, but would like to read Luncheon of the Boating Party and Murder on Black Swan Lane. Happy New Year to you too!
ReplyDeleteI think you'd really like both of those books! Hope you have a Happy New Year, too! :D
DeleteI haven't read any of these but I have read several of Susan Vreeland's books and they have all been fabulous. Hope you have a great reading year ahead!
ReplyDeleteI want to read more of Susan Vreeland's books next year because I really like the way she writes. :)
DeleteNice list. I really want to take a hard look at "When the Power Is Gone: and "Robopocalyspe." You really have a knack for turning up some good science fiction.
ReplyDelete:D I've been lucky with the books I've read this year.
DeleteI'm putting 'The Beast's Heart' on my 'to be read' list. I have not read the others so I can't say anything about them but I'll be checking them out.
ReplyDeleteHave a great new year.
Hope you like The Beast's Heart! Happy New Year. :D
DeleteGood list! I remember your review of A Borrowing of Bones, and definitely want to read it. Trail of Lightning is also high on my TBR list, and The Beast's Heart is on there somewhere.
ReplyDeleteI obviously loved all three. :)
DeleteAn eclectic mix! I've read and enjoyed several of these, but there are others I'm interested in. I haven't even finished reviewing books from this year, much less decided on favorites. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what books you pick as your favorites this year. :)
DeleteLuncheon of the Boating Party is the one that's fascinated me from that list since I read your first review. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteIf you like the Impressionists and that time period, it's a fascinating and fun read. I really enjoyed it. Happy New Year! :D
DeleteI loved The Beast's Heart so much more than I thought I would. I still need to read A Borrowing of Bones, especially since the second one is out now. Murder on Black Swan Lane is one of my faves as well. What a great year!
ReplyDeleteWasn't The Beast's Heart good? I have Munier's second book sitting in my library bag right now waiting for me to read it. I think it'll be the first book I read in 2020. :D
DeleteRobopocalypse looks so good! And I did like Polaris rising.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Robopocalypse. More than I thought I would actually. :)
DeleteI always find it hard to narrow down my favourite books. I haven’t heard of any of these authors but next year I’m planning to throw some more recent books into the mix. Happy New Year & I hope you have just as much pleasure in your reading in 2020!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol! I left a lot of really good books off this list to whittle it down to just ten, but what can you do? Happy New Year!
DeleteA great list of books, and I wish you a very good 2020 with even more good book, great blogs and a lot of birds :-)
ReplyDeleteAll the best from my side of the ocean!
Kind regards,
Thank you, Bettina! :D Happy New Year!
DeleteYay for picking A Merciful Secret, too. Polaris Rising was a lot of fun and I just finished Aurora Blazing which was also really good. Hope you have a fun and safe New Years Eve! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rachel! I'm excited to read Aurora Blazing. :D
DeleteFavorites list are hard to compile, aren't they? I haven't read any of your favorites, but several are on my TBR or wish list. I know Trail of Lightning. I really need to read Murder on Black Swan Lane this coming year. I hope you have a wonderful New Year, Lark.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope 2020 is a wonderful year for you. :)
DeleteHappy New Year! Now I am off to investigate some of these titles on your list -- so many I didn't know about!
ReplyDeleteHope you find some you end up loving, too. :D
