Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week's theme:  THE FIRST 10 BOOKS I RANDOMLY GRABBED FROM MY SHELVES.

It's an eclectic mix...but then I am an eclectic reader.

1. Altar of Eden by James Rollins

2. Soulless by Gail Carriger

3. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

4. Highland Fling by Katie Fforde

5. Lost by Sharon Bolton

6. The Tale of Halcyon Crane by Wendy Webb

7. Last Rituals by Yrsa Sigurdardottir

8. Blackberry Wine by Joanne Harris

9. Wreckers by George Ellis

10. Emily Hudson by Melissa Jones

Bonus book:
The Awkward Age by Henry James

Happy Reading!

  1. Lost is a great book - one of the best in the Lacey Flint series, I think! That's the only one I've read from your list.

    1. Lost is one of her best! And one of my favs. :D I think I first heard about Bolton's books reading your blog. So, thanks!

    1. Blackberry Wine is my second favorite Joanne Harris novel. (Coastliners is the first.)

  4. I love a good eclectic mix! I haven't read any of these, but at least some are familiar, if only by the author's name: Henry James, Gail Carriger (I own that book; I just haven't read it yet), Stieg Larsson, James Rollins.

My selection ended up pretty eclectic, too... but maybe not as much so.

    1. I really enjoy James Rollins' novels. They're full of action and adventure. And Carriger's Soulless series is full of magic and werewolves and lots of humor. :D

    1. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is such a good thriller. I didn't love the two that followed as much, but that first one was a 5-star read for me.

  11. I can usually rely on Katie Fforde to entertain me. I can't remember if I've read A Highland Fling.

  17. Great list! I've read LOST and BLACKBERRY WINE since I'm a fan of both Bolton and Harris. I've been meaning to read SOULLESS for forever. That cover is so eye-catching, plus I've heard great things about the story.

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

  20. I've read 2-5 of these. I am a big Katie Fforde fan although I think the older books are best. Funnily enough, I was contemplating this theme when I got distracted by one of my random grabs and forgot all about it until right now.

    1. I love Fforde's older books, too. And that's funny that a random book from off your shelf distracted you from doing this random book post. ;D

  22. I remember reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series. Pretty intense! Good mix from your shelves. fyi -- I bought your book on Amazon per your msg. I'm flooded right now with reads but hope to get to it before the end of the year. Kudos for putting it out there.

  23. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is such a good one! I love the variety you have too. :)

  24. I loved the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy. They continued the series after the author died, but those new books just feel unnecessary.

    1. I loved the original Larsson series, too, but could never make myself read the ones written after he died. I don't like when other people write someone else's characters just to capitalize on their popularity and make a quick buck.

  25. Have you read those books, Lark, or are they from your TBR pile.
I have only read Blackberry Wine:
