Could've Fooled Me by Jenny Proctor
Deportation looms
for Sarah until her brother's hockey
teammate offers to marry her.
Sweet hockey romance .... 383 pages .... 5/5 stars.
(Carter Williamson is the perfect guy; he and Sarah are great together, and this clean romance is super fun and cute.)
Miss Winter in the Library With a Knife by Martin Edwards
Six strangers. A mystery
murder game. A blizzard. So many
secrets. And real murder.
(An entertaining murder mystery set in Northern England; I always love that isolated and snowed in kind of setting.)
Miss Newbury's List by Megan Walker
Ten childhood dreams to do;
then she'll marry the duke. She wasn't
counting on Charlie.
Regency Romance .... 309 pages .... 4.5/5 stars.
(Rosalind's bucket list was fun, and I enjoyed her banter with Charlie.)
Happy Reading!

I just read my first Martin Edwards, so I will have to put this one on the list. Yes, perfect murder mystery setting!
ReplyDeleteI really liked it, mostly for that isolated setting. And I definitely want to check out some of Martin Edwards other mysteries now.
DeleteGreat haikus! I enjoyed the Martin Edwards book too.
ReplyDeleteI want to read some of his other books now.
DeleteMiss Winter sounds good, I didn't know Martin Edwards had that book out. And I love a Regency Romance so will look up Miss Newbury's List.
ReplyDeleteBoth are fun reads imo.
DeleteThe Miss WInter sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it!
DeleteGreat haikus! Miss Winter and Miss Newbury both sound like lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteVery different books, but both fun reads.
DeleteI always enjoy your haikus and you've given me more titles for my reading list.
ReplyDeleteThen I've done my job. ;D
DeleteI have that 'Miss Winter' book on my Kindle. Will try to include it in my reading at some point.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a lot of fun. :D
DeleteMiss Winter is high up on my TBR. It looks like a good one. This looks like a good mix of books!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit of an eclectic reader...I like a little bit of everything. :D
DeleteMy tbr list is so long but Miss Winter sounds good and the North of England settings very atmospheric
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about a too long TBR list! Mine grows every time I visit someone else's blog! ;D
DeleteMiss Newbury's List sounds really good!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun Regency romance. Charlie is a pugilist, and the boxing lesson he gives Rosalind was humorous.
DeleteYou’ve still got the touch…love the reviews done in that style.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sam! I struggled a bit with that last haiku...it's still not my favorite, but I had fun writing the first two. :D
DeleteAll three of these books sound so good! :D
ReplyDeleteI think they are all books you would really like, Ashley. :D
DeleteNice haikus! Miss Newbury's List sounds good.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun one. She's got three others in that 'series' which I'm looking forward to reading.
DeleteYay, you got to Miss Newbury's list! So glad you liked it. I have not read Could've Fool Me, but it sounds good.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy Jenny Proctor's books!
DeleteOhhh the 2nd one looks fun
ReplyDeleteIt is! A mystery murder game that turns real. :D
DeleteYour Haiku reviews are always great.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary!
DeleteYeah for the hockey romance! We were surprised Carolina beat Vegas ... but happy to see Montreal go to the semis.
ReplyDeleteI was kind of rooting for Vegas since they're the team that took out the Utah Mammoth, but Carolina really stepped up those last three games.
DeleteI could see myself enjoying Martin Edward's book!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a very fun mystery. Closer to a Golden Age detective book than a thriller, but I liked the main character.
DeleteMiss Winter in the Library With a Knife sounds like a mix of Clue and an Agatha Christie mystery, haha! All books appeal to me! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun mystery. :D
