Top Ten Tuesday...

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week's theme is about series you'd like to start, catch up on, or finish. I tweaked it just a little bit. Here's my list of Favorite Series I'm Currently Reading and Enjoying:

The K-9 Mysteries:

Alex Kava's Ryder Creed Series

Margaret Mizushima's Timber Creek K-9 Series

Paula Munier's Mercy & Elvis Series

My favorite Urban Fantasy Series:

(Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson Series)

The thriller/action series I love:

Gregg Hurwitz's Orphan X series.

Nicholas Petrie's Peter Ash Series

Paul Doiron's Mike Bowditch Series

The female sheriff/detective series I'm really enjoying:

Linda Castillo's Kate Burkholder Series

Melinda Leigh's Bree Taggert Series

Lisa Regan's Josie Quinn Series

And the Historical Fiction/Mysteries I still read and love:

Anna Lee Huber's Lady Darby Series

Victoria Thompson's Gaslight Mysteries

C.S. Harris's Sebastian St. Cyr Series

And I know I'm over ten series with this post, but I have to say, it was hard winnowing it down to these thirteen. Because apparently I read a lot of series. I didn't even mention Ragnar Jonasson, or Sara Driscoll, or Nalini Singh, or Annabel Chase, or Fred Vargas, or John Connolly, or Kristen Painter, or any of the other romance series I love, etc. Because there are a lot of really good series out there. Which makes it impossible to choose just ten. What are your favorite series?

Happy Reading!

    1. I know what you mean! Starting a series always ends up adding multiple books to an already too-long TBR list. ;D

  2. This topic didn't talk to me at all and since I'm busy with Non-Fiction November, I gave this week a miss. But it's interesting to see what you are about to read.

  4. I agree, there are a ton of great series! It is hard to highlight just ten.

You are in the middle of a lot of series. How do you keep track of everything. I limit myself to only a couple at a time.

    1. I don't keep track very well. I'm always forgetting about one series or another, and then falling way behind in them. ;D

  6. I definitely had more than 10 to choose from! lol One day I definitely want to start the Mercy Thompson series. I'm trying to get caught up on the Psy-Changeling series first... which will be a while!

  8. I love the Mercy Thompson series! It's probably the only one I read as soon as a new book comes out. I also really liked CS Harris, so I've been wanting to try Huber's series. I love a good historical mystery - right now I'm enjoying Karen Odden and Stacie Murphy.

  10. Boy howdy, was it ever hard to narrow my list down to ten! With Kava, Munier, Mizushima, Doiron, and Castillo on your list, I certainly can tell that we share some reading DNA! :-)

  11. There are several on your list that I want to read as well. When will I ever find the time? (She sighs dramatically.)

    1. You need to at least read the one with Hero Jarvis in it; she's such a great character. You'd like her. I think she shows up first in Where Serpents Sleep. :D

  13. Girl, I feel this so much! I tweaked the topic a tiny bit this week and I had a bunch ready to go and realized it would be 20 series! Decided to just stop when I got 10 in the blog post, LOL! I also love series, but I enjoy standalones as well...maybe I just love books, LOL!

  14. Hi Lark,
I must continue with Linda Castillo's wonderful Kate Burkholder series. I saw the movie, read the first book, and loved both but I keep stalling on beginning the second book in the series Praying for Silence. Must read it by end of this year!

  16. What a nice twist. I want to check out the The K-9 Mysteries

  17. I like how you grouped your favorite series by genre. I've read a couple books in the Castillo series, until it got too gruesome for me. I do really like the Huber series. I'm way behind in it, though. I almost put it on my list today, but it was on the last list I did with this theme and sadly, I've made NO progress in it since then. Oops!

    Happy TTT!

  18. Yay for Mercy Thompson! Absolutely one of my very favorite urban fantasy series. Have you read the Anna & Charles books too? I just love that whole world. My other favorite urban fantasy series is October Daye -- highly reocmmended, if you haven't read any of it yet!
