Great quote, and absolutely loe the painting. Somehow it has a more "current" feel to it than I would have expected from something painted in the 1890s. I suppose it just proves that a love of reading is so universal that readers feel a kinship with other readers no matter how different they otherwise may be.
Oh I love that quote and the mood of the painting! You asked about my favorite Lynn Cahoon series and I think I'd have to say the Tourist Trap series. It's not flawless but it's a solid cozy series.
Great quote and picture. Homes for us even where we wouldn't want to be. At least it would be only till the book finishes, lol.
ReplyDeleteReading definitely takes us on a journey - like the quote, Lark, and the picture.
ReplyDeleteLove the quote and the evocative picture.

ReplyDeleteOh I love that. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove both the painting and the quote.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful quote to match a beautiful picture! Nice pairing, Lark! :)
ReplyDeleteThat painting is stunning! Not an artist I've ever heard of. Mind you, what I know about art could be written on a postage stamp... ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quote! Gorgeous painting, too! :D
ReplyDeleteVery true. I use reading as escapism, but also appreciate the wonderful community that I have centered around books. There's such power in that!
ReplyDeleteI love that. I'm sure I look like that reading books all the time too. lol
ReplyDeleteBoth the quote and the painting are perfect! Great finds!
ReplyDeleteLove the painting. From the girl's hand over her mouth, her book must've been very engaging - a thriller perhaps? Or the hero/heroine's in peril? :)
ReplyDeleteLove that quote and the painting!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, perfect image and quote combo.
ReplyDeleteI love this quote and the painting. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous painting! I love the image (and the idea of a woman sitting alone with a book in a bar/restaurant/any public place).
ReplyDeleteOh I love that quote and the mood of the painting!

Thanks! I'll have to see if some of those books are at my library. :D
DeleteWhat a neat painting. I have not seen it before but there's so many details to it to look at.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I LOVE this painting and especially this quote. It's SO very true!
ReplyDeleteSp beautiful, as always. I absolutely love the quote. I must back to posting some, just didn't have the time lately.
