it finds homes for us everywhere."

  1. Great quote and picture. Homes for us even where we wouldn't want to be. At least it would be only till the book finishes, lol.

  2. Reading definitely takes us on a journey - like the quote, Lark, and the picture.

  3. Love the quote and the evocative picture.

  4. Great quote, and absolutely loe the painting. Somehow it has a more "current" feel to it than I would have expected from something painted in the 1890s. I suppose it just proves that a love of reading is so universal that readers feel a kinship with other readers no matter how different they otherwise may be.

  6. That's a beautiful quote to match a beautiful picture! Nice pairing, Lark! :)

  7. That painting is stunning! Not an artist I've ever heard of. Mind you, what I know about art could be written on a postage stamp... ;-)

  9. Very true. I use reading as escapism, but also appreciate the wonderful community that I have centered around books. There's such power in that!

  12. Love the painting. From the girl's hand over her mouth, her book must've been very engaging - a thriller perhaps? Or the hero/heroine's in peril? :)

  16. Gorgeous painting! I love the image (and the idea of a woman sitting alone with a book in a bar/restaurant/any public place).

  17. Oh I love that quote and the mood of the painting!
You asked about my favorite Lynn Cahoon series and I think I'd have to say the Tourist Trap series. It's not flawless but it's a solid cozy series.
