I love the picture and completely understand the quote. There are definitely books that I've felt that way about. Those that make you want to turn to the beginning and start reading the same story again...
I love the quote - and Cath's response to it because of how often that happens to me and I'm not prepared to have the book end so unexpectedly on me. ha
The quote is fantastic. And the art goes so well with it. She looks like she is totally engrossed in her reading. And even if it looks more like she's reading a newspaper, I bet it's one of those stories that were published in series in the papers first, like most of Dickens. I would have hated to have to wait even another day to be able to carry on with a story I love.
I think that's why I love series because you get to revisit your friends over and over! I love the painting. It would be perfect in a cozy reading room.
And even worse when it ends before you think it will because 20 pages are taken up with the first pages of the next book! Feeling cheated? Yes!
ReplyDeleteOh, I hate when that happens! And lately it seems to happen a lot.
DeleteThey want you to buy their next book. Understandable but, oh, so annoying.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I can definitely relate to this quote.
ReplyDeleteA big yes to that quote! Reading hangover is so real. That's why I join groups of readers who are fans of the same book. Lol!

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely painting! I like the quote too. I do feel that way sometimes when I finish a book. Maybe that's why I enjoy series books so much.

DeleteThat's actually one of my favorite bookish quotes and I agree with it wholeheartedly.
