ReplyDeleteIt's SO good! I really love Abby Jimenez's books.
DeleteI've never read anything by Nick Petrie, but I like books where I can start at the beginning and not have to wait for the next book. If there are 8 books, that's a bonus.
ReplyDeleteAnd his books read very fast. Peter Ash is a great character, and so is his friend, Lewis. This has been a fun series.
DeleteYour comment about "don't worry, the good guys win..." is timely. I just reviewed Falling over on the blog and used that thought as the theme because I wish that authors would start surprising me with a few unexpected losses and deaths in their thrillers than they have in the past. What a great way to end a long series that's run its course that would be.
ReplyDeleteSome authors seem to be very good at killing off favorite characters...and it's always a surprise to me, though not in a good way. I like my favorite characters to survive. Though if you were bringing a long-running series to an end, it might be good to have your character go out in a blaze of glory. ;D
DeleteI love your reviews!!
ReplyDelete:D Thanks, Cindy! That means a lot to me.
DeleteI've read two of these and although your reviews are concise, they are right on the money, Lark.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I try to capture the main idea of the story, but with so few words I don't always feel like I succeed.
DeleteLark, your reviews rock! I'm intrigued by all three books. I love it! Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteThank, Nadia! I really enjoy writing these short haiku reviews. :D
DeleteI love that cover on The Price You Pay. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt was a very fun action-y read.
DeleteAwesome reviews, Lark! Jacob sounds like exactly the kind of character I love to read about, so Yours Truly is going on my wishlist. :)
ReplyDeleteJacob is great! And I really love Jimenez's books. I highly recommend her.
DeleteThe doctors' love story seems like a good one -- fun and positive. What we need right now.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great book! I loved it. :D
DeleteI'm on the waitlist for an Abby Jimenez and I can't wait. All of these sound really good!
ReplyDeleteI have loved all of Jimenez's books that I've read. She's definitely a favorite author. :D
DeleteI have Yours Truly and her newest book from BOTM. I need to make time to read them! I also need to catch up on Peter Ash!
ReplyDeleteYours Truly is wonderful. And I can't wait to read her latest; I've got it on hold at my library.
DeleteHope you’re well. Sending hugs. Regine
ReplyDeleteThank you, Regine!
DeleteAll of these sound good, but I would probably lean toward the series by Angela Marsons. She has written two books a year in that series!
ReplyDeleteI do like her characters a lot, and definitely want to read more about DI Kim Stone and her team.
DeleteWhat a fun way to review!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I do these when I don't want to write a longer review. ;D
DeleteYours Truly was great! Are you going to read the next book?
ReplyDeleteI just got her newest one, Just For the Summer, from the library and am already loving it! :D
