Haiku Reviews...

Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez

He's an introvert.
She doesn't trust men. Can these
two doctors find love?

Romance ... 387 pages .... 4.5/5 stars.
(There's so much to love about this one! And kind, quiet Jacob with his social anxiety tops the list.)

The Price You Pay (Peter Ash #8) by Nick Petrie

When Lewis's past
comes back to haunt him he turns
to Peter for help.

Action/Thriller .... 416 pages .... 4/5 stars.
(Action-packed, edge-of-your-seat thriller with lots of bad guys. But don't worry...the good guys win.)

Lost Girls by Angela Marsons

Two kidnapped girls. One
chance to bring them both home. Can
Kim Stone find them in time?

Mystery .... 431 pates .... 4/5 stars.
(Excellent investigative mystery with D.I. Stone and her team--set in England's Black Country.)

Happy Reading!

  2. I've never read anything by Nick Petrie, but I like books where I can start at the beginning and not have to wait for the next book. If there are 8 books, that's a bonus.

    1. And his books read very fast. Peter Ash is a great character, and so is his friend, Lewis. This has been a fun series.

  3. Your comment about "don't worry, the good guys win..." is timely. I just reviewed Falling over on the blog and used that thought as the theme because I wish that authors would start surprising me with a few unexpected losses and deaths in their thrillers than they have in the past. What a great way to end a long series that's run its course that would be.

    1. Some authors seem to be very good at killing off favorite characters...and it's always a surprise to me, though not in a good way. I like my favorite characters to survive. Though if you were bringing a long-running series to an end, it might be good to have your character go out in a blaze of glory. ;D

    1. Thank you! I try to capture the main idea of the story, but with so few words I don't always feel like I succeed.

  13. All of these sound good, but I would probably lean toward the series by Angela Marsons. She has written two books a year in that series!
