Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week's theme: Genre Freebie.

I love THRILLERS! Especially when there are unexpected twists, a bit of edge and darkness, and some good psychological suspense. So I went through my past blog posts and chose 10 of My Favorite Thrillers:

If you've never read a thriller and want to give one a try, I recommend any
and all of these! I also list more thrillers I've loved on my Memorable Reads page.

Two books I recently read and loved...

Here are two more of my favorite reads this past month that I'm not going to review, but am going to recommend. (With thanks again to Rachel @ Waves of Fiction for the idea.)

Prodigal Son is Gregg Hurwitz's latest Orphan X novel. It's the 6th book in this series, which makes it tricky to review without accidentally spoiling things that happen in previous books. Just know that Evan Smoak is one of my all-time favorite characters, and I absolutely LOVE this series. All six books. They're awesome. My review of his first three books can be found here and here.

The Breaker is the latest book in Nick Petrie's Peter Ash Series. It is also book #6. I love this series, and this character, too. Every time I finish one, I can't wait for the next one to come out. If you want to read my review of the first book in this series, check it out here.

So there you go, two more books I loved and highly recommend.

Bookish Gold...

Looking for some bookish gold?
Try one (or more!) of these eight "gilded" reads:

1. The Gilded Lily by Helen Argers
(Think Edith Wharton but with a happier ending!)

2. A Gilded Grave by Shelley Freydont
(This is a very fun mystery set among the moneyed elite of Newport, Rhode Island.)

3. The Gilded Cage by Lucinda Gray
(Set in 1871, this YA gothic revolves around two American siblings
and the grand estate they unexpectedly inherit in England.)

4.  The Gilded Years by Karin Tanabe
(Anita Hemmings must pass as white in order to attend Vassar College
in this well-researched historical fiction novel.)

5.  The Gilded Shroud by Elizabeth Bailey
(This is the first book in Bailey's 'Lady Fan' mystery series.)

6.  In a Gilded Cage by Rhys Bowen
(Spunky Molly Murphy is back to solve another mystery.)

7.  Gilded by Christina Farley
(This YA fantasy is set in modern-day South Korea and has
an engaging heroine named Jae Hwa Lee.)

8.  The Gilded Age by Mark Twain
(No one makes fun of America and Americans like Twain!)

A Few of My Favorite Reads from 2015...

The Girls by Lori Lansens (An amazing novel about conjoined twins Ruby and Rose;
I didn't review this book on my blog but now I kind of wish I had
because Ruby and Rose are such memorable characters.)

The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa (A bookish gem!)

The Other Side of Midnight by Simone St. James (Ghostly suspense.)

The Ledge by Jim Davidson (A true story of survival and tragedy on Mt. Rainier.)

City of Jasmine by Deanna Raybourn (Adventure and romance.)

The Red Notebook by Antoine Laurain (Set in Paris!)

The Edge of Normal by Carla Norton (Bookish suspense at its best.)

The Kiss of a Stranger by Sarah M. Eden (I should have blogged about this delightfully funny Regency romance, too, but I didn't; instead, I'm recommending it here.)
